Filmed in 4K. Pure Driving - No Commentary.
Relax and enjoy a drive across the wild moors and steep hills of Holme Moss, the barrier separating West Yorkshire from Derbyshire.
The route was a challenging and dramatic stage of the Tour de France when it started in Yorkshire in 2014, and it's not difficult to see why it is a great attraction for cyclists.
We start in the lovely town of Holmfirth, setting for the TV series 'Last of the Summer Wine'. Following the Holme Valley, we pass a series of villages before we start the steep and twisting climb to Holme Moss, where a radio transmitter towers into the heavens.
The descent from the pass is no less dramatic, as we drop into Derbyshire and the Longdendale Valley to temporarily join the Woodhead Pass. We then take a 'B' road through Torside to reach our destination of Glossop.
The journey was filmed in April 2022, and the weather is beautiful throughout.
There's no commentary, just ambient sounds from the journey. There are occasional captions to help you know the location as we progress, together with some interesting facts along the way.

I'm pleased you mentioned the Pennine Way, my wife and I have walked it. 268 miles is a long way on foot. 😂

I would love to walk the Pennine Way myself, but never seem to have the time. Definitely on my bucket list plans. Thank you for watching.

Bilberry reservoir is in the next valley over beyond Digley reservoir. The reservoir behind the parascendor is Yateholme.

You're right of course. I did my best to research this one, but I got it wrong. I've been back to the area a lot more since and learnt more about it. Thank you for watching.

Non of those are Bilberry. That’s in the side valley beyond the mast.
