"Tropical and Mediterranean plants in Korea!"
Hello, everyone!
We looked around the greenhouse of the Seoul Botanical Park, which had been shut down during the winter due to Covid-19.
This botanical garden in Magok district, a new city in Seoul, opened in May 2019.
You can use Magok Station on the subway and visit by car because the parking lot is very cheap.
Admission to the Seoul Botanical Park is 5,000 won, and you can see both the outdoor garden and the indoor greenhouse.
It's not as old as London's Kew Royal Botanical Garden, or as large as Singapore's Gardens by the Bay. However, regardless of the weather, you can meet green tropical and Mediterranean plants, and take nice pictures in the photo zone.
It is also highly recommended as a picnic for families with children or a dating place for lovers.

⭐️By “Seoul Botanic Park Web site”
Seoul Botanic Park, where visitors can see and enjoy plants and cultures from 12 cities around the world, was established in the Magok Urban Development Zone, which used to be farmland in the past, to enhance the ecological aspect of the city.
It was established in the center of Magok, which allows visitors to access the park easily via the subway (Magongnaru Station on Line 9 and AREX; Magok Station on Line 5), in accordance with the Seoul Metropolitan Government’s policy to build an ecological city led by parks to not only help citizens to enjoy plants in their daily lives, but also to contribute to the public functions of conserving and restoring the city's natural ecosystem.
Seoul Botanic Park will fulfill its role as a place that spreads the garden culture and contributes to lifelong learning by providing courses for the different stages of the life and levels across all age groups, from gardening beginners to experts, so that visitors can enjoy education, experience, culture, and art related to plants. By hosting seasonal events and festivals, we will help visitors overcome any feelings of depression caused by COVID-19 and improve Seoul’s standing as an ecological city with plant exhibitions and conservation activities.
By conserving, restoring, breeding, promoting, and educating people about endangered wild plants, we will increase biodiversity and maintain an ecological balance to secure an environment where humans and wild animals and plants co-exist in harmony. We will make efforts to conserve and perform research on plants, such as breading hard-to-reproduce species of plants, obtaining plant genetic resources, and developing species through crossbreeding.
Seoul Botanic Park provides an emotional refuge to citizens seeking a natural environment in their urban lives, which is difficult to find in the city. With the opening of Seoul Botanic Park, we have already proven the usefulness of plants, leading the urban culture. We will dedicate ourselves to taking the lead in addressing climate change and urban environmental problems.
Seoul Botanic Park, which was born out of love from citizens, is still young and will grow bigger. We are looking forward to your support and attention so that we can develop into a world-class botanical park which will last hundreds of years through future generations as "a base that stores and researches plant resources."
