Tickets for adults as of August 2023 were $29.99 each. However the interior design of the mansion is absolutely breathtaking. Every single ceiling, wall, furniture, is not left untouched with designed, incredible architecture, etc

This is so beautiful. I do hope that some of the income that is brought in by all of the tourists do go to it's upkeep. In some of the pavers on the balcony, it was thick with grass and weeds, and peeling paint not to mention some chipped paint and enamel in areas. Thank you for bringing us along on your walk through.

Good morning/afternoon: I have just discovered your channel and am glad I did. It is evident that you have taken a lot of time and care to produce this video. As a lover and admirer of elegant interiors and fine furniture, thank you! Just one detail that has nothing to do with the video itself. It pains me the lack of respect and scruffiness of almost everyone visiting the place. Sadly, this is not limited to the USA, even in Europe in general, is fairly common nowadays to see people without any self-respect who dress like bums. You do NOT need a great deal of money to look very smart. OK, rant over! 😁😁 Again, thank you!

It was built as a summer residence for the Vanderbilt family

The breakers is the summer cottage of some of the. Vanderbilt family. You may know Anderson cooper? The TV anchor? This is his great grandparents house. His mother Gloria Vanderbilt's grandparents.

I am shocked how unkempt the Breakers has become: dirty windows, dusty tabletops, cobwebs, rugs rolled up in the dining room, peeling paint, crooked lampshades, fading pictures on the walls of some of the bedrooms, shims under bureau legs, grass growing through tiles on the exterior, and people entering places that were roped off. Evidently, pristine is not the order of the day. Preservation Society is slipping. The older people who once had pride in their trusteeship are being replaced by those who care less. It's a shame. I'm very disappointed.

We just returned home 2 days ago,from a fabulous trip to Newport RI. Taking in many of the Mansions. The Breakers,by ( NO ) means,was a disaster! I didn’t see cob webs,rolled up rugs,dirty windows ( Ocean side) would be a challenge for any windows to stay clean. What ( I ) saw, was a beautiful example,of the Gilded Age of Architecture,and unbelievable specimen of art,and wealth of its time. A masterpiece,preserved in time,so that ,history of the era,can be preserved forever, and enjoyed by all. I would love to take a walk through your home,to see where you fall short in house keeping🤥🤥🤥🤭🫣
