[4K video] Tecsun PL-990X and PL880 Internal speaker comparison 

I have both radios. The 880 sounds better on FM, but the 990 sounds better on MW & SW. As someone stated the 880 is too bassy for MW & SW. I use my 990 as my main radio. Love it

880 has much more open sound. Great vid

880 has more inpressive sound. Not better sound. I said impressive (= bass + treble boosted). Could be tiring after long listening. 990 sounds less impressive but still quite good and more neutral. If these radios had tone controls (bass and treble) would be easy to bring the sound to your liking. Now its a risky choice cause they are very expensive too.

The 880 has a better speed and dynamics making the music rock more. The 990x sounds more relaxed, less fatiguing and can be more suitable for vocals and speech. In audiophile (true to original sound) terms I'd say the 990x speaker is superior, but the 880 isn't far behind. Both these, on account of the class A/B amplification sound far better than almost all radios in this or lower price range as they are class D amplification based. Class D is slowly approaching class A/B in fidelity with its evolution, but not quite there yet.

I own both. PL-880 sound better than 990x. Sometimes 990x rumbles and vibrates at low levels

Microphone is overlapping the 880 speaker grill but not on the 990x. It might impact how we hear it to some degree in your video. I did notice more detail from the 880 audio in this presentation. Thanks for the demo.

Hello , I just wanted a little advice before buying the PL990 and it would be super nice to answer me. is it more sensitive in fm, mw and lw than the pl330. There is a difference in particular on these three wave games. I just sold my pl330 because disappointed before taking the plunge on the 990 I would like to know thank you
