indeed he is, what an insightful description, makes the objects come to life. He brings the rhythm of Orleans lively. I do love the city as it is narrated. people enjoy their natural living, no rush for routine mechanical rhythm. Yet we do need to know how the people in New Orleans earn their living in addition to being road side musician and running small shop?

Just got back from our trip to N.O. Our first morning we took part in the French Quarter tour with FTBF. What a perfect way to start out stay in N.O.! I would highly suggest any first timers (life we were) to New Orleans to start their trip with this tour. It took place at 10am and it really gave us the lay of the land and set us up for a perfect 3 days in the city. Beyond informative and the info provided went beyond the French Quarter. Kudos to Daniel, our tour guide. It was clear he has a passion for the city.

Thanks for this lovely exploration of New Orleans. This is definitely the next best thing to being there for real. Even though we do walking video's ourselves, we still enjoy watching other people's. I guess it's the element of surprise it gives in not quite knowing what's around the corner. I do think such films are valuable. Wow! Great video plan to share this and your other videos with friends coming to visit so they can put a list together of what they want to see. Camera work is superb. Love the video and the history! I've been to NOLA several times over the years and even got married in the Pharmacy Museum. We'll be back for Halloween again this year. Thank you for the lovely tour. Your dictation is wonderful. I will be honest, this video is very depressing to me. I grew up with my father living on Royal St, just two doors (not blocks) from the rear of the St Louis Cathedral. Although your video was very well done, it showcases how so much has changed. The French Market when I used to go, was absolutely packed. Mostly with food wares and a little bit of other vendors. Now, it is deserted, so sad. Back in the day (for me the 1960's) Everyone in the quarter knew everyone. The locals would get up early and do their errands usually before the tourist started their day. I remember my father getting up at 6 am and sitting on his balcony having coffee and chatting with the lady who played piano at Pat O'Brians who was on her balcony across the street next to the old A&P grocery store. By the way the smell of New Orleans in the morning is so different that when the heat kicks in and changes it. And you missed the Central Grocery Store, home of the original Muffuletta. I guess you can't catch everything. I enjoyed your video but was surprised to see how deserted it its. I guess Covid has had a huge impact on the tourist industry there.

well, ill say you did a lotta walkin', for sure,......wow. you know your stuff, and i liked the video,.....what i would say, is, besides crime or car theft or o/w being a problem, one thing i dont see in your videos,...where are all the people panhandling for money, when i was there last they were thick,..... i liked the video, wished you woulda gone in a few of those shops shown,...

It’s funny that the french quarter doesn’t look french at all but more caribbean a mix between the usa and cuba or Costa Rica. It does feel very american to me but i’m French and never visited the usa it’s just how it looks to me. Interesting city by the way, not a fan of concrete and glass skyscrapers everywhere but it Must be interesting to see that in its life at least once, Great Video

Just got back from New Orleans 5 days ago.We stayed in the French Quarter. I loved it. We took the trolly to the Garden District too. I loved it all.I'm still thinking about it !

My first shocker was at the airport. Soon as we walked into the terminal there was a FULL open bar! It was RUNNING at 10 AM!What? I remember the tiles with street names embedded into the sidewalks. As a central New Yorker I found them so cute. Other stuff: The souvenir shop that has a sign "Not feeling well? We have medicine to help you feel better. It's free. Just ask us." Being hungover in a strange place must be miserable. What a great service to offer. My friend's family served at a church in the Quarter so we drove over and they parked at the curb where there was a manmade hill. My stomping grounds at home I'm surrounded by natural hills so this was a treat. They all laughed at me when I got so excited about seeing a hill, lol. I think it was Jackson square my friend and I were walking around at when I joked about taking real Spanish moss home. She started pulling handfuls of the stuff off a tree. I'm like NO! The view at the top of the steps at one of the museums is breathtaking especially at sunset.

Love to watch them before going off to dreamland....to show my eclectic taste , I suggested a historic church tour but a French Quarter gay bar tour could be fun , too....always glad to see you pop up on my subscribed list!!!!

In these pandemic stricken days , having something to look forward to makes a world of difference with the psyche....I'm still under a travel ban where I work ( hospital) but I dream of seeing y'all ( New Orleans) again this Fall or even at Xmas... apparently when the CDC recommends safe leisurely travel again our ban will be lifted ...👏🎯👍🥂🍾

@@FreeToursbyFootHQ I have watched all of yours and Robi's but none from other places under Tours by Foot. Not because I wouldn't , though. In addition to y'all I am a fan of Joolz from London and a UK guy , Jason Billam , that travels internationally. Jason just got back from Egypt but is in lockdown in the UK. I also watch any and all videos on any place I plan to travel. That usually runs the gamut from the sublime to the ridiculous. Also , as a wrote before , I love the walkabout ones from just about anywhere as they help me bliss out and relax. I consider the walkabouts almost a different category as it's just usually a camera person with no dialogue and sometimes soft music but it's not knowledged base like a true travel video...I watch travel videos to learn about a place and walkabouts just to enjoy the scenary...

Thanks for this! It was an informative and entertaining tour. I recently moved to Baton Rouge and have been taking intermittent journeys to New Orleans. Getting to know the city - it's great to finally know what I'm looking at! (If you ever want a tour of San Francisco, CA - you can take me along! 7th gen family there - so yeah - you know what you're looking at! YAY!) Mom's comin for a visit next week. I was here with my parents in 1975 - I was 15 - STORIES!! and perspective changes!!!! wow.

I’m so glad I discovered this channel. I attended undergrad and lived there more than thirty years ago. Back then, the French Market actually sold lots of produce and beautiful handmade crafts from artisans.
