You definitely got some clutches smoked, that what all the black powder type stuff is. Im more familiar with Ford trans but i know ford and gm share alot and all the springs are always colored for some reason. Maybe to keep up where they go when they slam these things together originally. I bet the pump started to go, low line pressure and eventually burnt the clutch packs
@@BlaserBuilds Typically wont smell them while driving, unless it gets REALLY hot. But you can definitely smell them when you disassemble it. A very specific smell you wont forget, Kinda like manual clutch when they burn up. Just an FYI
do you have any advice on reinstalling the pump gears? it looks like you just yanked these out, I did the same, but I'm afraid of not understanding the proper alignment for reinstallation.
