Cutting the fenders on the 4Runner and welding tabs onto the bumper for some new lights, all with no talking, just garage sounds (asmr)
The 4Runner needed some help. Every time we would go off roading, the 35" tires would hit the front fenders and dent them in more. Also trying to make any sharp turn (like in a parking lot) the tires would scrape and make the most horrible sounds that everyone would turn to look! So we had to fix this.
To fix this, we taped out the fenders and cut them with a cutting wheel. Smoothing the sharp edges afterwards with a grinder, also having to cut the bumper tubing with a sawzall to make it fit.
We had some yellow off-road lights we wanted to put onto the bumper, so we thought we may as well weld on some tabs while at the shop. Used the sawzall to cut the metal tabs in the vice then used the bench grinder to smooth and round.
Drilled holes in both tabs, then welded them on with a Miller Welder.
When we got home later, we spray painted the fresh metal and put the amber off-road lights on. Also spray painted the under side of the wheel well to make it blend together a little better.
Now we will see next time we go out on a off-road adventure, if anything scrapes or rubs, then fine tune from there!
