A good practice after running for storage is pull the prop shaft. Dry it off. Either leave it out or grease it and put it back together. If stored for long periods without doing this the shaft will rust from the inside out and they snap.

That's what I do. I noticed my cable was wet after running, so I started drying it and regrease.

I always grease my Shafts at the end of my run/day. Keeps it ready to go next time. Only been boating for 6 months and now I'm hooked! Love making videos too, just a bunch of fun!

If your running no water cooling through your rudder you could run a stainless steel knife blade for less drag (they are a lot thinner)and leave it either longer or make it wider front to back. Vaguely remember you doing a knife blade in the past.

What are detrimental temps for the esc & the motor? I'm checking my temps like you do, but wondering what the limits should be. FYI I used you links & bought 3 ABC props & balancer & 2 smc batteries and a lipo bag for Saftey

Anything over 150F is too hot, you haven't damaged anything yet at that temp but definitely time to look at your set up and make some changes.

I wouldn't go over 160 on a motor. They say a brushless motor runs the most efficient at that temp. But I keep mine around 110* on motors and my escs stay around 90 or less.

My 1800kv runs around 113-115 after 5 good minutes of bashing, but my esc can be 140-155. I've got a new 175 amp esc coming from rcbb & a 4082/1700 coming to play around with different setups. New to boats, but so far loving it!

Another thing I do to a lot of my boats if not concerned with weight is running a water pump. Because to cool a boat it has to be in motion which in turn still creates more heat. I do passes and make sure it is always pumping. I also run a remote switch so the pump doesn't run dry.

You are going to be very competitive with that set up. I'm running two 5000 mah 4s packs they usually come in with 3.9 volts after a race.

When you measured the 18.5mm off the rudder, you forgot to add the thickness of the saw blade, so you probably took off just over 20mm total. 👍

Looking good brother and keep it going. Simple trick for soldering the bigger connections. Especially the motor wires. Take some thin solid copper wire. Like 22 gauge then wrap around the wire then solder your joint. Lessen the solder gap between wire and the plug. Also should try taking the straight fin off the ul19 and use it as a turn fin on your mono for the right side. You can also re-drill it to move it up a little bit further and straight up and down. Adding a 22 degree bend in the fin as a hook works very well and hook the corner

Man that straight carbon fiber just looks beautiful you need to get some of that wax I can't remember the name of it but polish out that carbon fiber it's pink and it comes in a 4 oz bottle and you have to get it from like a carquest or a Dupont paint distributor for automotive paint but I want to say it's like buttons garage or something like that but it's pink bubblegum colored wax and it would turn that thing into a mirror finish I polished a lot of epoxy coat and gel coated things.. I wish they would use the multi color carbon fiber mat.... Like the blue and silver that they have on the hood of those Hondas racing around... With the fart can mufflers .. phptttptpt brppppp

I think it's coddington's garage or Boyd coddington's pink wax show showroom post wax you have to use like a DOT for an entire car hood but it turns black paint until like black chrome we've done a lot of custom jobs where I used to work and we used to get in the BASF catalog all the time

That's a tough one, I love boat boats. Out the box no upgrades I say the dominator, it's ready to roll, blackjack 42 needs alot of attention and time to get running right. Go for the DOMINATOR

No, bj42 don't self right. Dominator will just make sure you get the self righting Dominator. Oxidean has several versions of the Dominator available
