Just a curiosity: "Dovunque" in itaian means"everywhere". The real name was Fiat-SPA 35. It was developed for the ethiopian war to go "everywhere" ahaha. There are some interesting pics in which they test It in difficult conditions.

We actually use "dovunque" as "wherever", but i guess it has the same meaning

The Republican Army divisions were trained in Germany, and were made by a mixture of fascist army veterans, former "military internees" and conscripted youngsters. A good chunk of the Royal Army, after the Armistice, was disarmed and interned in Germany, living in pretty bad conditions, since Hitler refused to give them the status of PoW. When the RSI tried to set up their army, they asked those internees to join the Republican Army. Nearly every officier and most of the soldiers refused (the ones who had fascist sympathies already did, at that point), and many of those who agreed did so to get out of the prison camps and, eventually, get to Italy and desert there (some even jumped straight from the trains). The low yield of this recruitment drive, and the desertions, pushed the RSI to conscript younger and younger people (in spring 1944, the class of 1923 and half of the 1924). Obviously, people were scared to end up in Germany and never come back, so the rate of draft evasion and desertions among these youngsters was incredibly high. Hence the disheartened troops. The GNR was the Guardia Nazionale Repubblicana, created to have a better control of the territory. It was made by merging the MSVN (basically the fascist militia, aka the Blackshirts) with the Carabinieri (which in Italy worked, and still work, both as law enforcement and military police). However, the Carabinieri, being a corps heavily associated with the Monarchy, deserted en masse shortly after. Many of the deserters, both from the Army and the GNR, joined the Partisans, who in the summer of 1944 numbered at least 100.000 people. All in all, I find the inclusion of the GNR in the division a bit weird though. Pronounciation tip, in addition to the previous video: -"Reclute" is stressed on the first "e".

Concordo a pieno.

I love the italian units and vehicles of ww2, especially decima mas amd the maiale. Would you mind writing more about the Cacciatori delle Alpi and Tagliamento, or telling me where I can read more? I have never heard of them and you guys seem to know what you're talking about. Love to Italy from Australia!🇮🇹🇭🇲

@@giubgiubbi3409 It's possible they included parts of other units for balancing reasons. It's probably why they put the entirety of the Italian Liberation Corps instead of single divisions. And while the GNR had provincial brigades to control the territory, they also had mobile ones to be sent around when needed. And the MSVN, before the Armistice, was partially integrated with the Army, and had for a short while a tank division, so imagining a tank detachment from the GNR integrated in the Monterosa is not science fiction.

@@MickeyMouse-bo6ug Finding infos on the unit of the RSI is not easy. The literature is small, politically biased in one sense or another, and probably completely in Italian. You can find stuff on random sites (in italian), but it's not easy, especially for smaller units, like the Cacciatori degli Appennini (not Alpi, those were a division in the Royal Army) and the Raggruppamento Tagliamento. Larger units have their Wiki page, and it's quite informative. For instance, it confirms that the division had a tank destroyer company, and at some point received a battalion from the Tagliamento (although the division was at that point split in half). I don't know a lot about the military of the RSI because I had to study the Resistance movement and the war crimes for an exam in Uni. So I know how the GNR was divided and worked, and I know some german and italian units who partook in killings and anti-partisan operations, much less so on the military side.

@@jacopomangini3036 You're right about the info being hard to find in English, especially objective information. With the chaos of the late war Italian front, and allegiances shifting its also hard to find information about what unit was where and on which side. Formal education on the italian perspective is almost non existant in English also. I appreciate the long and detailed reply. You've given me some things to Google and read about. I don't understand why there are bersagliare units in both allied and axis divisions, do you know the historical basis for this? Thanks again!

Hey Vulcan, is there a chance you might be doing single unit reviews for staple units and how to use them? I would love to hear your insights on some common tactics, advantages, and limitations of these units. Would love to see it on: Avtomatchiki Panzergrenadier Panther D/A/G IS-2 43/44 Panzer IV A/D/F/G/H/J Jagpanzer IV SU-85 85mm Flak guns (forgot the name) and so on. Like the basic to advanced things that every player should know. Would absolutely love it.

It's got to be said but the 2 allied divisions they added are quite abit stronger than the Axis ones, especially the 6th South African armoured division, that division is exceptionally good as far as allied decks go and the allied Italian has some seriously heavy hitting infantry and support vehicles. It's nice to see for a change, now adleast the allies have a few pretty strong decks compared with the Germans who have many. Would be real nice if we get a US division with some M26 Pershing tanks... would be real nice for sure.

Neither Mussolini nor their ministries of economy didn't understand usury and debt money. Indeed the bank of England said in '36: we defeated Italy even before the beginning of the war. Bruh you're not gonna make someone run out of medium armor with just 2 AT planes and ur pak guns are gonna trade 1:1 by C because by then chances are your enemy is gonna be artying it after reveal. If youre playing against someone in a team battle and theyre not vanguard too they're going to have a C phase card of Mediums or Heavy tanks. This deck is gonna get chewed up and spat out by end of phase B. For that reason, I think you're making a huge mistake not taking those recon planes, the best bet to keep this deck alive in phase B and C is to get those radio mortars the intel to shell the enemy AA and get air supremacy with this decks amazing fighters. The deck has opportunities to make good trades in A that will give you the money you need to start stacking air power too.

Im sorry, but Eugen forgot to add another French Division for these DLC, i mean "Tribute to Italy", the french armed forces had a decicive role during the Italian campaign, especially the breakthrough of the Gustav Line. it would have been fair to add the 3rd Algerian Infantry Division or the 4th Moroccan Mountain Division. Anyway nice dlc; .°
