4th Generation Subaru Legacy Headlight Removal/Swap

Given that the factory halogen headlights were pretty disappointing, I am swapping them out for a set of retrofitted Acura TSX Projectors with D2S HID bulbs, blacked out headlight housings and deleted amber corners. Cleaned up the front end quite a bit! Might do a retrofit on the original headlights myself in the future!

Buy an assortment of push tabs & a removal tool from eBay. Super cheap & useful everywhere you need a push tab.

In North America, this is 2005-09, no. 04 was the previous square body.

Thanks a bunch for the video. Today I did this on my 06 outback xt. They have the same setup. Took me about 2 and a half hours cause most of the push pins were broke from the previous owner or missing so it was hard to get the correct positioning. Nice job!

Does The legacy headlights fit into the outback without any modifications?

@@Went2Jrad im not sure on the actual headlight assembly part but my xt at the time shared the same exact disassembly/assembly in terms of taking the headlights out. I think itd be safe to say they are the same but id double check, i no longer have mine so i cant say for sure
