Inside Chicago’s historic Marshall Field Building, an awe-inspiring American flag drapes over everyone.
As part of the 4th of July celebrations, Chicago is decked out in patriotic red, white, and blue.
Starting on the ground floor, you can look straight up at the 13-story skylit atrium in the northwest section. Imagine how stunning this view must be at midday when the sun hits the atrium just right, making the flag glow.
Then we'll make our way up, greeting the flag on each floor, all the way to the 7th floor to get the best views of the American flag.
On this day we commemorate the ratification of the Declaration of Independence by the Second Continental Congress on July 4, 1776, establishing the United States of America.
