Well even if someone doesn't want to do something they don't like having the choice taken away from them, it's why grounding children works: tell someone they can't do it and they will want to, it's a instinct. And no one likes to be trapped.
I love David's reaction when Hook shows up. He goes into daddy overdrive trying to make sure that Hook's intentions are honourable when it comes to his daughter. I think Charming is an amazing father and I enjoy watching his interaction with Emma. He wants what's best for his daughter so I understand why he wants to know what Hook's intention are with Emma. I'm so glad that he's willing to give Hook a chance because Hook has proven that he would do anything for Emma. What more can a father ask for????
We pretty much got EVERYTHING during this episode. There was so much I liked about this particular exchange. 1. Emma obviously called Hook. 2. He called her a fair maiden. 3. He's obviously done his homework with regard to electricity and dating (strange combination, hahahaha). 4. Hook speculating that someone put up the wall to kill them all one by one (because that's what he would do), lol. 5. Hook saying this is their second date (after the snow monster incident). Btw, I think that was a rather important line, not just flirting. I think he was trying to remind her again that she needs to take the moments and LIVE her life. Maybe they won't often get the typical dinner and a movie type of dates, but they can still have something wonderful. 6. The conversation with Charming who wants to know his intentions. 7. Hook insisting that he wouldn't risk his life for "loot" and his statement that whatever they become will be something she chooses as much as he does. David's nod of acceptance after Hook says this.
I had so many feels watching this last night!! I swear they're going to kill me! I loved how Hook was toward Emma too. He was so worried about her.Oh that handsome pirate!! *swoon*
Aww i like how emma calls hook when she needs him hes so in love with her that he would drop anything he was doing if emma was in trouble 🤣🤣 hooks face when emma changed the subject when he was going about them going on a date 🤣
"Snow monster's the first, ice wall's the second." How come he isn't counting Emma's first royal ball???? That was definitely a date. Also the time they had a drink together in Emma's apartment in New York....
I really want to know what's Emma's reasons for suddenly trying to avoid from Hook!surely it's not because of the guilt she feels because of what happened to Regina!because that would be a crappy reason for avoiding romance!
Ok, am I the only one the thinks David is way to mean to hook. Like I get it, he is a dad and dads are over protective like that bust still. Hook has done so much for Emma. And he so CLEARLY loves her. But David still thinks that hook is playing Emma. Hook has proven himself a good man so many times. He is not the best but he still is amazing. David needs to calm down.
I don't think he was being mean. I believe his reaction has more to do with Hook's reputation as well as his pirate past. Yes, Hook is a good man and he's clearly changed but it's hard to shed first impressions. Hook did team up with Regina/Cora to get his revenge. These two have actively tried to kill his wife/daughter. He plotted with Greg and Tamara to get his revenge until he found out he had to die too. Plus he double crossed them when they were trying to save Regina. It's hard to get past those initial impressions but David's being a father. I'm actually glad this scene happened because it makes me appreciate their bromance even more.
Haha, I loved that part :) He's beginning to understand that Killian truly loves her; quite a step ahead from last season ("You're never going to get her...I'll see to that")
So I accidentally started watching this show s4 the first time round, then got roped into the story line too much to go back to s1 before the story line I was roped into got resolved - I was so confused with David talking about Hooks intentions with his daughter and I was like, wait aren't they the same age and also Henry calling both Emma and Regina Mom, when they both clearly had male love interests, I was both very lost and very intrigued and didn't want to wait 3 seasons to find out what happened with the frozen story line, SPOILER only problem is, I ended up having to wait 3 seasons to find out what happened when Emma became the dark one,
