Finally someone demonstrates that you don't need standing headroom in a 4x4 adventure van. The sprinter 4x4 is pretty capable off road but get a high roof version with a rack and upper cabinets and gear stored up top; you have a 10 foot tall box with insane clearance issues and very poor center of gravity. Great, simple, efficient layout; thanks for the tour.
Hey Michael! Thanks for the comment. I agree with you, hence why I am at where I am! There are tradeoffs to everything, but at the end of the day... it's about where you can go... so you can be there.. not in the van :)
VERY NICE, SIMPLE BUILD! I LIKE SIMPLE AND LESS PROBLEMS. YOU GAVE ME A IDEA!! LOOK FOR A MECHANICS ROLLER SEAT, SOME ARE VERY LOW AND YOU CAN MOVE AROUND. 6'3" IN LOW ROOM, WOW YOUR COMMITTED TO LET NOTHING STOP YOU! GOOD STUFF!
Hey awesome rig!! Can you put together pricing... for like the roof rack and interior ( fridge) and how you went about mattress/cushions and set up? Maybe info for people looking to research?
I like this minimalist design. Mine is even simpler but I only use it for vacations, not for full time living. I have a twin over full size bunk bed, removable in 2 minutes so I install the upper, lower or both, depending on what I want to carry. Everything else is easily removable as well.
I love my sprinter van it's the high roof cargo version and its super useful. So useful in fact, that your entire family and all your friends will constantly ask you to move their shit. Not kidding.
Dude, that is like the perfect layout. You built all of that yourself? I'm looking at a Ford Transit 350 low roof. 2wd, which sucks (4wd hard to find now and super expensive). Can you tell me what the build cost of that was? And, and possibility of you repeating that on anyone else's (i.e. mine)?? haha
I recently received some money, yours, is exactly what I want, but I want sportsmobile poptop. What size are your tires, what kinda gas mileage do you get and what did it cost.
Awesome mate! I’m in love with this low roof set up. I’m a bit afraid of the height to be honest. But I’ll use it just for scapes and long weekends so... do you think I will survive?
