Another great video! A tip for readers looking to purchase an off-road camping trailer... Take it from someone that towed one off-road for ten years, the happiest day of my off-roading life is when I STOPPED towing a trailer. You will eventually ditch the trailer for four wheels on the ground, not six. Plus, in a lot of weather situations just try cooking outdoors. The are such a pain; all my opinions.

Cool video Joe & Kait 👏🏼 That Sherpa was the most uniquely designed off road vehicle I’ve ever seen! Those tires alone were the most beastly feature, but that Adventure Truck was the BOMB! That brightly lit white interior was a total selling point for me! Always my best to you two 🥂

You should watch some videos about the Sherp. It’s amphibious! I always thought it would be cool to outfit one as a camper instead of a 6 seater. Literally nowhere you couldn’t go!

Its not a sherpa , its a sherp. The pro model that was shown is not made any more. At least can not be shipped into the usa.There fun and very capable. I did some crazyness in my sherp

The Adventure Truck XT is my all-time favorite pik!!! It's half the price of the EarthRoamer XVLTS, but it offers more bells and whistles. But, the smaller ATrk is purrrfect 4A content Bachelor like me....Alas, decisions... decisions,,, thanx 4 your input! Ciao:)

I've watched a LOT of videos about Australian tent campers. I think Kimberley is probably the first from that country to bring a camper trailer here. Don't worry about the tent feature. These are built with the same fabric the Australian military use in their field kitchens. Some Australians have bought them used and say the fabric still looks and feels new. These are designed to be taken off road so go ahead if you want to hitch it to the back of your SUV and hit the trails. It can take the abuse. The slide-out kitchen is a common feature among Australian camper trailers so unfortunately, you will have to try a different brand if you want an internal kitchen. I however think the ergonomics of the slide-out drawers is very well done. You can slide both out and have access to everything except the bed. The only drawback is that none of these will have a toilet. The Australians always say they do it "in the bush." I'm surprised this isn't illegal in some of their camp grounds. These are expensive trailers but they make up for it with long life and will still look new after two years of roughing it over rocks and ditches.

Joe, did I hear you right....the Sherp has a TWO THOUSAND MILE range? How is that possible? It doesn't look to me like you could fit more than a few gallons of fuel in that tiny thing.

Yup. That’s what the dealer told us. The wheel covers provide extra fuel storage.

Awesome show. It must be hard to camp in cold weather like that. I didn't understand the F350 joke when the guy said your camper wouldn't fit in his truck. Is your camper too big, is that why you have a flatbed.? I like your camper / truck set up, it seems more usable than what he had. Thank you for sharing this video, great shiw.

2000 miles?.. how many miles per gallon? 3. And a 700 gallon tank? I don’t think you can get 100. Max miles with all tanks filled tops out at around 300 miles

Every RV everywhere, of any type, is WAYYYYY over priced, thanks to the pandemic and people wanting to get out and willing to pay any price to do it. if you can wait a year or two, there's going to be a pandemic-inspired GLUT of used RV's on the market once people have realized they spent $100K on something that stays in storage for 95% of the year. If you can wait to buy, wait.

I've been looking at used RV inventories on RVTrader, RVT, etc, and Craigslist for a while and it is very, very slim pickins with almost zero deals that I've seen out there. I find it interesting how expensive the overland truck and van rigs are. My research shows you could buy a brand new Ram 3500 4x4 Cummins dually with a fully equipped off grid truck camper with 3 slides for less money. (Less then $200k) So why sacrifice space and luxury and spend more money? I don't get it. And you could certainly do an off grid truck and camper for cheaper then $200k if you went slightly used. Who is buying these rigs? Ive seen some $300K plus. I dont get it.

Well those truck campers with three slides aren’t built for the rigors of going off road. Many of the overland truck “house” sections are built using composites, tend to be much lighter and are integrated into the truck. There’s a lot more that goes into them - plus they aren’t being mass produced like the types of campers you mentioned. Whether that’s something you need or want is a much different question but the beauty of many of these specialty overland rigs is that they’re custom built so you can build it to your specs and not have to buy something “off the shelf”.

@@Weretherussos I guess. I like your channel and am a subscriber but I have yet to see any serious off road stuff that my scenario couldn't handle. Having said that, to each their own. The type of camping and overlanding that I would do would fit my scenario as I wouldnt want to put myself in the middle of nowhere stranded in a gnarly situation. Actually, I fail to see any scenario in North America to justify those $300,000+ vehicles but again, if you have the money who am I to tell one how to spend it. Cheers!

All cool stuff, but the reality is they are just fancy campground tents,( parking lot queens) and the ones that do get remote, the nasty truth is they are leaving their you know what behind, causing BLM to clean up the mess, frikn disgusting, been on the road just a couple months and lost count the number of times my campground neighbor was a lifted truck with a pop up camper 😎 I’ll stick with my humble travato with full bath!, and hit the trails with my dual sport
