Have to give Daniel Galhardo of TenkaraUSA credit for being the first to bring Tenkara to the USA. I haven't touched my western fly fishing gear for close to nine years now.. Keep the Tenkara videos coming. It was you pulling out your Tenkara rod that had me subscribe awhile back.
I bought a Tenkara based on your videos...now I need to learn how to use it. Thanks for the book as well, I just moved to Colorado and am clueless about where to fish.
I have 2 fly rods, one bamboo that is over 100 years old and a keepsake now, and a newer bamboo rod that is 30 years old. My reel is over 100 years old and very basic. I started barbless fishing about 50 years ago. I like fish no need to cause anymore damage than necessary. I do like the way you approach trout fishing, very zen. Keep on Trucking my friend. Angry Old HIppie Hermit Peace.
Its hard to beat Tenkara rods for pan fish! I mean put a bobber on that thing an go to town! Nothing is better eating then fresh caught pan fish cook on the fire! LOL Trout is good but a pan load of brim is heavenly!
Hi Brian..nice video...just noticed that you're almost 10000 subs away from that Youtub3 plaque!..I started following in Dec and you've doubled subs in that time..pretty impressive for a guy and a dog in a truck...right?😉
I love your videos Brian. Fishing for trout is one of my favorite things in life. That was a good looking cutthroat at the beginning there. Take care my friend. Vaughn
Hi. I really like that style of fishing. Fishing and hunting is fun because of the challenge. Tenkara fishing involves planning and stalking the fish. It gives the fish a sporting chance. Being able to shoot game from 700 yards away because you have a $2000 rifle and scope isn't really fair. But getting close and taking game with a bow is far more challenging and sporting IMO. Now if your hunting or fishing for survival that's different.
Hay there, this is DJ if u ever get out towards north central Arkansas. Hallor an we can do some campin here in the ozark mountains [Boston mountains] or around our lake [Norfolk lake].
hey Brian, i have notice in some of your older videos you have a bunch of stickers on your truck, now you dont. you have probably addressed this but i missed that video. why is that?
Where I live in southern Maine it's hard to find an area that's clear enough to fly fish. That's why I use plain old Zebco rod with a Zebco spincast reel.I've had this for more than 30 years, and it's failed me!
Hey Brian, I grew up in Buenie in the '70s. Used to camp/party at a cabin up cottonwood pass about four miles past rainbow lake. It's on top of a mine dump and you can see it from the road if you know what your looking for. If you know that cabin you probably know Reuben who lives in the lower cabin and has since we were in high school for almost 50 years now! I was up there couple of years ago (live in TX now) and the air is so crisp and clean! youTube stuck one of your videos in my stream and I recognized Princeton. I like them and they remind me of home. I'll check back here now and then or you can hit me at curtBurris@gmail.com. Thanks.
