Good on you brother. I recently had an ankle sprain after landing on the way down from grabbing rim. It's healing quickly and you've inspired me to continue the grind. Keep us all updated on your progress, God bless. 🙏
Summer break starts in 2 days for me 😎 so ima work out a lot and practice my basketball skills, ima also try to increase my vert, I’m 5’6 rn and I’m 12, my goal is to be 6’4 but Idk if that’s gonna happen (probably not) but I still wanna be able to dunk, I’m not the best in my grade but I put in the most work so by the time season starts I think I’ll be the best, my coach always puts me down low when I wanna be on wing and stuff, all I can shoot is block shots but I wanna be able to shoot mid-range, I’ve been working. Like this comment and in 6 months I’ll try to give y’all an update
Ay respect for dunking at 5'7 thats really cool. Im currently 5'10 16yo and I got my first dunk yesterday off a lob. I am aiming towards constantly dunking before schools ends.
@@notdylan8679do wall sits everyday bro it helps I did a drill I made where I wall sit and dribble with music and did that 10 times till failure it strengthens your knees a lot instant results like in a few days, at 12 I was 5,8 190 lbs of mostly muscle had some chub on me but I had a 28 inch vertical, I always was the most athletic in my class but that’s when I realized it then that’s when I started training, I was jumping everyday and everywhere ngl, like the 9 foot roofs at school I broke a couple of them 😭😭😭, at 13 got my first dunk off the dribble, I never got a dunk off the lob till later but at 12 I was touching half net, lost 17 pounds of weight and grew to 5,10 at 13, then got my first dunk in P.E. class, kinda peaked out didn’t get any tricks dunks until I almost turned 15 but I ran into knee problems a couple months before I turned 15 I recently recovered from jumpers knee I came back more bouncy surprisingly so yeah my weight and height now at 15 is 5,11.5 (without shoes), 185 lbs (btw I gained more muscle when I grew cuz remember I said I lost 17 pounds)
im currently 12 years old, and I have the best vert in my class, im going to be a small guy at 5'10. but I am going to to practice every day like you. And hopefully I can accomplish my goal of dunking. thanks for inspiring me to do this.
I’m 11 and 5’8 and after mi injury I decided to become a shooter even if can do anything in a 8 foot rim and in 9 feet I can hang but it’s so hard to dunk and in 9’6 ft I could touch the rim
U earned my respect mate. I'm 14 years old but 5'7 as well. Do you think I can dunk? I've been watching a lot of dunking videos to boost my morale and motivation to dunk, but I'm still a bit unsure if I will be able to dunk.
ay do you have any advice on how to control the ball and finish with one hand? I'm 5'7 too and i get high enough to dunk a tennis ball with like 70% effort but i struggle to control a regular size ball
You are bouncy bro. If you don’t mind me asking, how often were you jumping/dunking? How many days in a week would you recommend for practicing dunks? Keep up the great work you’ll be jumping out the gym as you get older for sure. 🚀
Tbh, most of the journey I was dunking 6-7 days a week. During basketball season I only probably dunked around 2 days a week. I recommend dunking as much as you can as long as you don’t have any pain. If you have pain, stop jumping and don’t ignore the pain, or else you could get injured. Jumping a lot can give knee/back pain, so jump as much as you can pain free. If you can jump every day, great, you’ll gain a lot of bounce.
