Stepinac faced off against Cardinal Hayes for the second straight season in the CHSAA “AA” Championship. This time the outcome would be in their favor. Led by 5 star point guard Boogie Fland, who would finish with 30 points. The Crusaders would win a hard fought matchup against Cardinal Hayes 69-66 at St. John’s University Carnesecca Arena.
Hayes featuring 2024 studs Ian Jackson (UNC) and Elijah Moore (Syracuse) would come into the contest winning the last two meetings over the Crusaders.
Fland was named MVP finishing with 30pts, while teammates Carbuccia 13pts, 5rebs, and Ben Lyttle 10pts, and Jervis 5pts & 4 rebs. Hayes got 18 each from Moore, Jackson, and Njie.
