It’s sick of accusing someone of felony’s and so much other shit just because of a vertical ALSO he plays victim while he started it he accused him and more btw I remember he searched someone’s history just to insult them since some texted some criticism
Tyler is very good dunker but comparing him to Vince is like.....blasphemy Dunking is not only about doing fancy stuff on 20 attempts with no competition
Dunking evolved so much since Vince won in 2000. TFB, Kenny Dobbs, Jordan Kilganon really pushed dunking to a new level. Vince has the style for sure but a 360 windmill or off bounce eastbay will not win you a dunk contest these days.
I think if he was in his prime, and knew dunks like these were possible, he could have probably hit them. it's not like he doesn't have the athleticism, people just didn't know how far it could be taken
nah, I don't think so. Guys like isaiah and kilganon are on another level bro, I don't think vince would be able to do a 360 behind the back eastbay on 10 feet for example.
Tyler is a great dunker, but: 1. Vince did his dunks 22 years ago 2. Vince did his dunks on the first try in an nba arena with huge pressure 3. Vince 360 windmill is still the best 360 windmill of all time, 22 years later If Curry does his best dunks on the first try in 2000, he has a chance, but a lot of ifs
Tyler would have a lot going for him, even if you only allow him to do the dunks that were invented back then. I think Tyler could make a better eastbay than Vince...I think he's pretty close on the 360 windmill, and the judges could give him extra points cuz he's way shorter...Tyler's elbow hang would look more impressive cuz he's shorter and jumps a little higher.... Vince is sick, and his consistency would be his biggest advantage, but nobody can pretend that it wouldn't be close
@@DunkademicsOfficial what ppl dont talk about was how smooth vince was. he could throw a simple windmill down with aggression but elegance. dude made dunking look effortless.
No! Vinsanity didn't have the highest vertical but he had style and flair about his dunks that nobody can match at the time. There's a reason he was called "Half man, half amazing."
@@BigPlasticPlant He jumps high. But given good conditions there's 6'1" guys who've dunks over 7 footers too, in contest sure, but they did it none the less. Vince had a vertical leap of 43"
With the current standard, what VC did back in the day definitely can't beat TC, but I think you should give respect to the pioneer and OG. It's just different eras. If VC was born around the 2000s, he'd probably be one of the top dunkers and pro basketball players right now. This title is technically right but wrong on everything else.
I'm sure this kid can do the same, but Vince was the first and no one had ever seen those types of dunks before. Vince was the originator and inspired a whole new generation to start dunking like this including this kid here. No one, not Dr J or Michael Jordan was dunking like this in this manner.
So this is the old man who who wastes his time calling out someone for doing dunks trying to make a career in the same business as you and yet u still hate
Vince Carter’s most spectacular dunks happened during NBA actual games with lots of strong players around him. This dude is very good as well and hope he will get in the NBA as well.
Vince Carter is a legend and being idolised by many dunkers but Carter’s dunks that made him famous were mostly during a highly intensed games with strong defenders as well. This young man should give Carter’s respect not only dunks without defenders, he needs to get himself into the NBA world where mostly best players were highly selected through NBA draft. Keep persevering mate, you have the potential.
That's blasphemous! Vince being 6'7 with over 40" of vertical leap and 8'11" standing reach would won with most of the best professional dunkers in history (maybe except Guy Dupuy or Lipek in their primes). His style was way better than all of pro dunkers, his consistency was also better, and he made dunks that had never been done before his participation in 2000 SDC. These days if he focused on dunks, he would own everyone in dunk contest
What dunks did he do to make you think he would own everyone and let’s not put hypotheticals there’s lots of more pro dunkers like Chris Staples, Isaiah Rivera, Jordan Kilganon, Justin Darlington, Jordan Southerland, and more but a dunk never seen before doesn’t make you win when it comes to pro dunkers because they’ve also done many dunks never seen before in dunk contests so how would Vince exactly beat him off dunk skill I’m not saying he wins or loses but how would he beat them?
@@user-ky6cw3wx6v Vince had better reach, larger hands and better coordination. His dunks looks better than the same dunks done by other dunkers, e.g. Chris Staples is known for high consistency and can do 360 windmill many times in a row, but none of his attempt looks even half as good as Vince's. Vince regular windmill is still one of the most beautiful dunks, even though it's far from being the most difficult dunk ever.
@@jk8190 also you can’t prove he has or had more “coordination” especially because this is what these dunkers do is coordinate their body to do all these really difficult dunks so style apart from style what would actually make Vince win we can’t use stuff like “he created this” so he wins because lots of dunks have been created but what actually makes him win from a technical perspective of dunking coordination is not a great point for him style is sure but how much have we seen from him compared to pro dunkers? and of course he’s inspired dunkers and I respect that but so has other peoples dunks and even now there’s been over 50+ dunks created so from a dunk contest perspective if you know how these go what would actually make him win? I’m not saying he’ll lose and I’m not saying he’ll win
@@jk8190 any decent pro dunker today is a better dunker than even prime vince. They would beat him in any contest off of the sheer difficulty of their dunks. No disrespect to old dunkers but this newer generation is a different breed
@@erijak2935 Guaranteed, if Vince had just a few hours of practice, he could do any dunk that Kilganon or Currie's done. His proportions are just too good for dunking.
When all you do is practice dunks, of course you could potentially beat someone who’s more focused on being better overall in every aspect of basketball.
@@D1v1n3PR how does someone “sOuNd MaD” from words on a screen? I don’t like exchanging words with braindead or useless people on the internet, but I’ll do you a favor this one time. I’m far from mad.
Bro i feel like there is no point of this video and title being posted. Of course T currie can defeat VC despite his height because he grew up doing dunks meanwhile VC had to focus on shooting etc. than just being a good dunker so it doesn’t make sense how you compare a pro dunker who has been learning dunks almost his whole life and an NBA player who had get good in all things and couldn’t focus in his dunks but was the best NBA player to ever dunk the ball to do a dunk contest.
Tyler is a great dunker but he misses a lot of his dunks in his contests. We've never ever seen or heard Vince in a dunk session before trying thing's because we couldn't, but 3 weeks ago on ESPN he did say that he jumped and put both his elbows on the rim then pumped and dunked it as he was coming down. That's something new that we've never even seen today, so the creativity is definitely there.
That's funny. Literally the first dunk Tyler did here was a 360 mill. It's a warmup for these guys now. Sure Vince did it better, but the dunk itself? Not winning any real contests now, at least in the pro dunking scene. For christ's sake there's guys doing 360 Behind the BACK's in contest, and behind the back + between the leg dunks in contest.
Vince 😩... first of all J.R Rider brought out the threw the legs dunk.those are his flowers. but vince was half man half amazing Gametime dunker. He would dunk on u. And make u look silly. But its nothing wrong with dreaming!👊
I just don't want nostalgia to cloud people's judgement. I love VC just as much as anybody else, but people act like his regular between the legs dunk is better than stuff that's happening today. His 360 windmill definitely stands the test of time tho. It's still beautiful
If Carter's best dunk's hardness is rated 7, This dunk's hardness is 10. Carter may be best dunker in nba. But still weak if we compare him with these pro dunkers.
🤷🏾♂️ I am not so impressed or amazed by Tyler bc it’s not uncommon to see now days but when Vince was dunking he was the only one dunking so electrifying.
Bullshit title. Just because someone can dunk extremely well in an isolated context doesnt mean they can stand the million of eyes looking at them and under pressure in an NBA dunk contest (esp when the NBA was a professional league, not the shit we see today)
I understand you bring VC up for clicks. This kid is impressive but he couldn't keep up with T-Mac, or Stevie Francis who was also in that legendary dunk contest
No he ain't! He dunking on low rims. Vince is a better dunker . Windmill from Vince its been 20 years and no one can do it like Vince . Vince dunk the ball with so much power.
This rim is 10ft. Vince is 7 inches taller than Tyler, and Tyler has done wayyyyyy more dunks. If we're talking strictly dunk contest, Tyler could definitely beat him. In game is a different story, obviously
@@DunkademicsOfficial he can't beat Vince. Vince is taller but what that has to do with anything. It's a dunk contest not how tall are you. The power the dunks from Vince are just better! Yea Tyler did more dunks on a low rim . Why is Tyler losing every dunk contest 3×3 because he can make the dunks the rim is like it is supposed to be . He not a top 5 dunker and you talking and compering him to the GOAT of dunking
@@SrbCrnG23 The reason he brought up his height is because he’s obviously at a disadvantage compared to Vince. Add his much shorter wingspan in there too. And he does all of these on 10 ft. Power alone does not make you a better dunker. There’s also style and creativity. So It’s not really a reach to say he’s a better dunker than Vince because Vince doesn’t practice dunks like Tyler does. He’s a basketball player
@@Speedgamer2015 Did Nate beat Howard noone said nothing about how tall Howard is. No one cares its a dunk contes . Why is he losing all those 3×3 dunk contest the oder dudes are higher ? He can't make his dunks. Why , the rim is normal not lower!? Power creativity Vince is better at all . T DUB is a better dunker than Tyler he is also small and his dunks were more powerful and creativity are on another lever .
Vince Carter is the best dunker overall and the creativity back in the 90s you can't compare it with the one in the present. Is like you say now you have a better smartphone than Steve Jobs in the 90s :)) or there are skateboarders who pulls off 1080 now easily when all the people were jaw dropped when Tony Hawk did the first 900 back in 1999. The same thing applies here. I am sure people who says Currie or Kilgannon are better dunkers were born when Vince Carter did all these dunks you compare with and didn't feel the thrill back then and the nostalgia that hits you right now.
It's crazy how you would lie and try to ruin someones image for clout like FFS you did this not just for clout you did this cause of jealousy cause you know you can't dunk higher then 10 feet
Tyler is an awesome dunker, make no mistake about it. But I'm not sure I understand the criteria that would propel him past VC in his prime in a dunk contest. Keep in mind, VC did dunk contest dunks on people (who were dunkers) in real games...effortlessly.
hell naw. It doesn't matter if these young dudes do 1080 or some crazy stuff. it's all about the style and power. vince could just do a simple windmill and win a dunk contest 9 out of 10 times. these youtube dunkers don't have that power.
If vince carter was in his prime today, he'd be studying today's dunks, not just the dunks from the 80s and 90s. If tyler currie was in his prime in the 2000s, he wouldn't be doing these dunks. can't really be comparing different eras here.
Oh well, so much for the clickbait title. i'd still pick VC because he does dunks cleaner and consistent. I know Tyler's a good dunker but don't you disrespect one of the dunk legends 🤣
No clickbait and no disrespect. Tyler is a freak of nature. Saying that he could beat Vince in a contest isn't any type of disrespect to Vince, it's just saying that Tyler is nuts
Everybody missing the point. We talking about Dunking. Not regulation Basketball. You take Vince in his prime and Tyler in his prime and make them play horse (Dunks only). I promise you Tyler will shit on him. Easy
