I was at a gun show in Dallas, a guy was selling one of the 5.56 bakelite mags. He wanted waaaaay too much. Cool video, I don't really care to make any 74 mags work fully in my 5.56 AKs.....I just want my 45 rnd rpk bakelites to work in it lol

I've not got , pod arms followers but I have some I bought off Etsy that are identical, and I've used them in plum 545 mags, and a circle ten 40 rounder , And so far they have worked flawlessly! Gonna be running them all again next week I will film this time for sure ! Oh and fired from SA M-5 and mini beryl AKs yeah, I was very surprised myself lol , I compared my mini beryl mags to the plum mags and they are damn near identical even in curvature , weird. And yeah man keep making videos! I do them as well , Same thing , no clue what I'm doing but I do it for fun, and I damn sure have plenty of it !

Mine work flawlessly in my brand new Bulgarian 5.45 mags, the $14.99 ones w/ metal reinforcements.

Informative video I was gonna get a few mags and try these but I’ll just stick with factory mags for my m85.

The E German bakes in my sar 3 are basically perfectly functional 25 round mags. Mine run great as long as i don't load more than 25.

@ call me camo There are additional mods done ar the front feedlips and at the rear on the bakelite magazines, converted by both Century and Robinson Armament. My vepr.223 came from the factory (RA) with a modified 5.45 mag converted by RA. It runs flawless. My suggestion would be to find a Century modified magazine and drop your POD follower in there and it will run without any problems.

Just tested 3 pod arms followers today. East German bake, tula plum and circle 10. The rear of the mag where the bolt travels through to pick up a round is shaped differently. Those first rounds you fired and "malfunctioned" was the bolt getting snagged on the mag. I didn't think to turn up my gas today unfortunately and had to go back home with poor results. After I got home I filed the mags to make sure they would simply allow the bolt and carrier to travel normally. Also tested a few rounds in each to make sure they would feed and eject. Hopefully my next range trip is successful and I can update positively. Slr106fr for my test.

I always figured that due to the curvature it would be far less reliable at the higher round counts. Maybe crazy lubrication would give full capability? Idk

I bought a set & had problems with them contacted pod the guy I talked to was cool said he had a few batches of bad followers sent me out his new Gen 2 followers as he called them & they worked badass no malfunctions looks like you have the old followers like I had I’d give em a shout see if they won’t swap em out for you 🤙🏼

ive got the Plum mags (4 ) converted with the 556 Pod Arms,I tested Them Today (best mags for ZM90) they worked Flawlessly !

Your slr 106f looks just like mine. Minus the muzzle brake

If you have a spare magazine spring or can buy one you can try to shorten it or try putting the 556 magazine spring in the 5.45 mag.

I use 3d printed ones and results are simmilar to yours. They maybe work up to 25 rounds. 30 rounds will almost always have failure to feed. And in my experience plum work a little better than bakelite. I use them just as 20 round decorative mags for range use only. Bakelite looks so much better than plain beryl mag in my jack.

You can still find Bakelite magazines for $50 occasionally and if you get them straight from a dealer around $30. Never pay MSRP on surplus magazines

Plum mags and those "made in Bulgaria" not circle 10 mags run flawlessly in my m90 Also stop saying saying bakelite like that wtf It's not bock o lite it's bake lite >:(

Buy 5.56 z mags and mill about 3 thousands from each side and they work fine

I use a podarms 1.5 follower in a tula plum magazine, I can only fit 25 rounds personally.

I have about 2k rounds thru out my different 556 AK’s with his followers and never had a malfunction

I have a .223 bake from my wasr-3 and it will not feed right in my 106 SBR

Any place to get the followers to change from a AK74 to a 556?

Good new, these followers have come down in price. They are down to $16. So far I've have no malfunctions thru BAKELITES or plum mags yet.
