I’m off my feet & out of the studio this week……..as much as I love your videos……they are making me want to speed my recovery to get back to painting. ❤
Thank you, Helen! Wishing you a speedy recovery-I'm glad my videos are keeping you inspired. I'm sure you're excited to get back on your feet and creating!❤️
Please continue to paint these abstracts, Im painting right along with you,and not giving up. Im kinda stuck all my paintings are vertical trying my darnest to move in another direction.
Will do, Kate! ❤️Keep experimenting with different orientations, it can be challenging but rewarding. Don't give up-you'll find your groove in no time!👍 You got this!
Another great video. I especially enjoyed the addition of the collage paper. Watching your process as you resolved that last addition really brought that piece to a nice thoughtful closure. Thank you 🙂
Hey Chris, Greetings from Belgium again. Thank you very much for this beautiful video. I recently bought the '50 Abstract Warm-Up Painting Prompts'. My question is do you have a list of which prompts you made a video of? Thanks in advance for your response. Greetings
Hey Marc! How are things in Belgium? Getting cooler outside I'm guessing. I have a lot of videos with prompts, but I don't have list of them all or a list of the videos I've done specifically from the prompts in the download. That would be a good thing to create. I'll see if I can put one together soon. Thanks for the suggestion! Best, Chris
Oh my gosh!! I couldn’t have grinned any bigger with your thank you! But truly it’s us that thank you!! Your such a giver ❤ creative 🎨 and your work is so inspiring I would be paying you a lot more if I lived there - so my little gift is nothing - your welcome Ty for an awesome video I am glad you ate beforehand 😂 I will be doing beach rocks 🪨 for this one in my Chris book 📚 paint Happy painting 🖼️
That makes me so happy to hear, Kelly! You're gift means so much ❤️ Haha...I am a little surprised that only one of my paintings this week was food related. Thanks so much!😊
Hi Chris…I’ve missed being here, but I’m back. I had to turn my attention to music for the last number of months, all the while missing the practice of putting paint on paper and canvas! (My brain and time constraints couldn’t seem to manage both at once) I’m so eager to start following along with your prompts again, starting with this one. Thank you!
Welcome back, Ann! 😊 I'm right there with you-it's not easy to juggle several creative avenues at once and get the benefits of each. I'm excited for you to put paint to paper (or canvas)! ❤️
I love your work ,I love abstract painting and I paint like, , you do , I stop and go back several times , then add something else , , I have challenged myself to 15 minutes and it really works very well , didn't know at the time what it was going to be and then voila , it looked magnificent my name is Linda Bailey from Corpus Christi Texas , thank you Chris for your input .
Seems I'm not the only painter with health issues cramping their artistic style. This exercise was so inspiring and I love your results with yellow and violet - very challenging. Thank you Chris.
Thank you, Ann! No, I'd say you're not the only one. I've had many comments lately from people who are trying to recover from something and be able to get back to painting. I'm wishing you all the best and speedy recovery!
@@deborahisaacson9817 Hey Deborah! Some acrylic paint pigments contain toxic chemicals (e.g. cadmium, cobalt). From most of what I've read these paints are not harmful to the human touch due to the way the paints are produced, however, there is some debate over that. So, I think many artists, including myself, err on the side of caution and wear gloves. But as you'll see in several of my videos, I don't always remember to put those gloves on. I hope this helps.😊
@@chrisloudart Thank you, that helps a lot. I'm grateful for videos like yours that teach me things I didn't know. I usually buy colors based on ...well... color lol. I'll have to look through my stash to find out which, if any, of these potentially-toxic ones I have.
Wow! Love the painting, I really like the first orientation that's my favourite, the floating frame really enhanced it too. I've been using floating frames for a while and the last painting I did before I got blocked out of my workshop with mums worldly goods. I painted the inside part of the frame and that helped to give a more 3d effect. Ah well, as long as you're willing keep making your videos they're part of my art inspiration. Thank you Chris as always it's been really good watching you create. Cheers from Tasmania!
Thanks so much, Howling! I'm thrilled you loved the painting and the floating frame-it's amazing how they can really enhance a piece. Painting the inside of the frame for a 3D effect is a fantastic idea! What color did you paint it? I appreciate your kind words and support, and I'm happy to be part of your artistic inspiration. Cheers!
@@chrisloudart thank you. The painting I did was more whimsical, 3 little naked goddesses diving in the water and swimming around a school if fish so I just extended the underwater scene into the inside of the frame. It worked, it gave the desired affect, so I used blues and blue greens with a touch of a warm yellow, and sand colours, yellows, ochres, and sienna. Its not a huge painting, and it was fun to do, I find doing whimsy stuff re energises the grey matter, and stops my brain from smoothing out😆😆. Ok bring on the next video, I am looking forward to when I can get into my workshop again 😄 Cheers!
I'm not sure how I miss your replies-I must not have a notification on correctly. Anyway, that sounds like a delightful and whimsical painting! Extending the underwater scene into the frame is such a creative touch, and I bet the colors you used must look fantastic together. I'm glad to hear it was fun and re-energized you. How far out are you from reclaiming your workspace? Cheers!
Very versatile, Chris. Great little painting and all those tips make sense. It's a good idea to limit the palette to get to know the colours. 😊... and wear your gloves. That's like Jamie Oliver uk tv chef not washing his hands before cooking!😮
I still cook a recipe I saw him cook on TV about 15 years ago-Irish champ. I'll make sure to wash my hands next time I make it 😂😂😂 (and pop those gloves on next time I paint.) Thanks for the encouragement!👍😊
