I really appreciate the completeness in Glenn's instructional presentations. Demo includes the exit of choice and that's missing in many YT boxing tutorials.
Kindly make a detailed video of the 5 th combo of rolling over with right hook. It's a complicated move and not easy as it seems in this video. Will be grateful.
Just discovered your channel via Tony's Master Boxing course and loving it every second of it. The finesse and awareness of your client is sharp on every attacks and defense she puts in task into these combos. Keep it up Glenn.
Can you do a mitt video on how to deal with a pressure fighter, good combos to use on opponents coming forward, and how to use the mitts to imitate a pressure fighter. Thank you !
Tried different things…best to fight fire with fire…need to be the bigger and meaner bully in the ring…aggressive counter- offense is the best defense too .
In a real fight for self trained self taught beginners only knowing the basic moves it’s almost impossible to stand close like that without getting hit and also dodging hooks by slipping under someone’s arm like in slow motion lol Is there anything that I can do to improve my dodge speed and have a fast reflex ? Also able to read the enemy’s time
yes, plenty of sparring, focus your training on reaction drills to build your CNS and also when sparring focus on the chest / shoulder area, hope that helps a bit mate 👊🏻
two schools of thought on this, ive seen tons of pros w/ KO power screw the foot and others not, if coaching it for technique, i would encourage screwing the foot as it allows more core rotation, but in a fight scenario i doubt it actually happens that much, so either really
Great video please do south vs orthodox ( open stance padwork)It may it be as popular but there are plenty of coaches training south paws and southpaw boxers!
it’s a training video to develop footwork, thanks for watching and commenting, hope it helps with your footwork, which will definitely help you land punches
When holding the pad for the lead hook, Is it meant to be held closer to your face and at face height? As I noticed you hold it shoulder height out in front. Thanks Glen 👍
hey Jake, depends on what you’re doing really, for example: a longer range hook off a cross, ill hold out, an inside range hook off say an uppercut or bodyshot, will be closer , hope that helps
One question: If I could only learn 1 simple combination, what should it be? Jab to overhand right? (For a beginner, right handed against a right handed opponent.)
Not gonna lie, I'm not really a fan of the first and third Combo but Combo number Five is beautiful and looks like it would do monstrous damage if executed perfectly in full speed and power.
it’s a boxing fitness channel mate, but disagree on choreographing punches, just take a look at Floyd, worked very well for him, choreographing combos, develops timing, patterns & instincts just as much as random mittwork
@@GlennHolmesLA Yes Sir, I mentioned fitness in my comment. What I meant was, new fighters need to learn position from footwork first. Also if people try and copy what Floyd does without all the basics he has from a pedigree in boxing, they’ll fail. My apologies though and I meant no disrespect. My intent was to add a point not take a jab.
