The designs are amazing but I’m not sure about the “easy” part, especially the last 2 or 3. Thanks for sharing. Love to see your work.

Yeah, I think our marketing team likes to make everything sound "easy" 😃. It took a whole day of rehearsal to get these down...but it was fun and always helps to try new things to challenge yourself and inspire new ideas. Thanks!

@LittleStreetPottery

Hi Kathy, that one I had to make on my own. I saw some pictures (if I can remember where I'll post here) somewhere that inspired the design. I just made a regular triangle pattern and then used an oval piece of cardboard to round the sides...if that makes sense.

Thank you for the great instructions, will be trying one of them today! If I may ask, which hole cutters are you using? Also the pastry rolling mat. Mine is silicone, it's too floppy for flipping the clay.
@LittleStreetPottery
@LittleStreetPottery 2 года назад
There is a link to the hole cutters in the description (they are cheap)...I've only been able to find these silicone mats long time ago at Walmart - not on Amazon...I've not been able to find them anywhere since - they are nice and thick and don't curl. Glad I bought several...if I find a similar model I'll post here. Thanks.

Ok I have a question. I really want to start doing dip glazing since brushing takes forever and if I pour brush on glazes they run out quickly. So I've been looking around glazy, but one problem I have is the food safety of glazes on there. Most people don't say, so should I assume it's food safe even if they don't say? If not, what is the best way to test its safety?
@alondrar.2505
@alondrar.2505 2 года назад
I am a college student but I have been doing pottery for around 6 years now. But I would say that if it doesn’t say, just research it. Maybe it is a band thing and the brand is known for food safe glazes and just doesn’t put it on the packaging, and vise versa. Don’t look for food-grade or non-toxic since they still can be not food safe. Do not eat anything off of them just in case there are toxic materials in them. I would say anything matted/ satin would be a no, like underglazes. Or that has a heavy metallic finish as well. That is from my experience. But definitely just look into the company or even specifically look up that glaze from the maker and read the description. If the description doesn’t say I would call costumer services and just ask, since they would definitely know. I hope this helps
