I like that remote controlled metal item fetcher, why use a random hand-extending item to brush it out, if it is magnetic you can pretend like you are International Rescue in "Thunderbirds are Go" and deploy a dedicated vehicle to fetch it for you!

by converting the solar energy to mechanical energy, you already lost some energy due to conversion efficiency. It is better to put the solar directly connected to the phone charging port (ofc with right electrical components).

Shouldnt use machine oil in DC motors. They will gunk up and probably end up worse. Graphite dust is a better solution. Apart from that nice tips!

why was hot glue used to hold the mini SAW BLADE onto the motor, shouldn't a cap be used you know something that can't be taken of so easily hot glue isn't really that resistant to centrifugal force
