I love this mini orchid series! Due to the lack of space I have in my home I started buying mini orchids at orchid shows now. I love them just the same as my larger orchids. I was finally able to purchase 2 plant shelving units at IKEA, I am so happy my plants have their own space.
Minis are great! Always good to make space to get more orchids! Plus they’re just so cute when they’re tiny! Please do give us more mini content! I love it!
Super cute orchids. I have a few mini's in my (over one hundred now) collection of orchids. BUT...you know what I would find the most useful video of all??? PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE do a video on how you provide the individual needs of the various types, all within one grow space. How do you set up for assorted temperatures, watering and lighting needs? I think EVERYONE would find something helpful in a video like that. And, thank you Danni so much for all the valuable information and hard work you put into educating us. ♡
I absolutely would appreciate you providing more mini orchid videos. I am just in the thinking stages for the preparation of a tropical terrarium and can use every bit of assistance available.
Yes, please. More mini's and compacts. Info like which ones are terrarium-adaptable etc. is hard to find. Nice job on this video - well organized. Thank you.
That Leptotes bicolor sounds cool! If you do end up experimenting, I would love to see a video on preparing and tasting it since there isn't a lot of info on the web about it.
Yes! Love the mini orchid videos, please make more! I first started into orchids last year (now I have 7!) with help from your videos and am focusing on minis since I am an apartment dweller. ☺️
Absolutely gorgeous plants!🥰🥰🥰 Each one is amazing in its own way! Hard to choose a favorite....I fell 🤸♂️🤸♀️🤸 head over heels for the orchid in the Swan pot!🦢🦢🦢 But I am a sucket for maroon and purple colors too!🐞🐞🐞
Hi Danni, the beautiful Leptodes bicolor is native from Paraguay my home country and also found in southern Brasil. I finally found it in eBay to buy and is currently being shipped to my adopted country USA. Can’t wait to see it bloom 😊
Mini orchids are my number one!! I need them all!! Lol. That’s the bulk of my collection. I have two mini phals from Lowe’s that I bought a few years ago and they are surprisingly scented now! One smells so strong of soap/ammonia and the other has like a light floral/mint smell during the day and a weird coffee smell in the evening. It’s so strange but I like it haha.
New to the channel and orchid/plant care after being gifted some Phals. Your channel has been really helpful. Thanks. Definitely going to look into getting one or two of these. Unrelated but really love your watch. So pretty.
Another super cute miniature orchid you might not be aware of it's existence is Haraella retrocalla. It's super tiny really and has beautiful scented flowers.
Definitely interested in more mini orchids as I have decided to bring some of of my orchids indoors, because they are too exposed to the elements outside where they live at present. I’d like to buy a few more mini Phalaenopsis which seem to do well for me now and I so enjoy the long blooming times of them. Thanks you for the very informative videos you make. Keep them coming!
Hi Danny. Yeah love my mini's also. In limited grow area can place on window sill and have absolute high terrific cuteness factor. Also have different spiking and blooming methods which is interesting.
I'd love to learn more about miniatures! I have my own house but there isn't much natural light and I don't have an artificial light set up (yet). Thank you for this!
Love the mini orchid content! I have at least two of each except the Aerangis. I would love some of those but a lot of the mini orchids are hard to find in Australia.
I just bought my first tolumnias. I think they'll need to be in self-watering for me. I put them in lightly packed sphagnum moss last night and they were very dry in the morning
Thanks so much! I so enjoy and appreciate your helpful information on the minis. Practical information for home growers is so hard to come by. Do you have any tips for reblooming Dendrobium trantuanii in the home environment?
I keep my leptotes bicolor hanging, in medium artificial light, It blooms every year. I don’t think it need cattleya light. I have it for many years, very easy plant to care for.
Thank you Danny. My orchids are all actually outside I have screened in greenhouse. I misted plants around the orchids and immediately that day the buds blasted. I'm actually wondering it was combo hot day and the water it was so sudden.
I bought a leptotes bicolor after seeing it on your Instagram the other day. Mine came mounted though, it's my first mounted orchid. I'm not sure if I want to leave it mounted though, I am not confident I can water it right. But since you said it's somewhat tolerant to dryness, maybe it'll be ok.
I have a leptotes pohlitinocoi now has 6 flowers in bloom. However, the biggest problem is that the flower stem is too short. It's not like the leptotes discolor showing in the video. The 6 flowers are squeezed by the leaves which makes it not so pretty. I think it's a great foliage plant which looks just like a small succulent plant.
Perhaps this is a question you already answered, but which mini orchid would you suggest for a kokedama? I'd like to make a levitating kokedama with an orchid, but I really don't know which one. A mini orchid would be easy to balance on top of the levitating platform
My windowsill is 7 1/2 inches deep, beyond that is a 9 inch deep garden window. This window faces north in a southern state. I have a clear glass hurricane globe 10 inches tall and 4 1/2 inches wide, with full 4 1/2 inch open on top. I would like to put a miniature orchid on the windowsill with the globe over it for protection and humidity. It should be bright enough, with no direct sun. The house is 76F in summer and 73F in winter. Is this setup appropriate for a miniature orchid, or are there factors I’m not aware of? Thank you Orchid Girl
Can you please make an update video of the Dimorphorchis lowii, Dendrobium harveyanum, Dendrobium amesthystoglosum, the cymbidiums if you have any, and the cold growers you still have!!
Don't stress about the vaccines. It's gonna happen how it happens. I just tell myself that over and over when things are too crazy and weren't caused by anything I did myself. All we can do is our best and play with our orchids to relax from the so-called 'real' world. Stay safe and happy. The Minis with a scent are an answer to a prayer, aren't they? 😇🌹
Ive been searching about leptotes seed vainilla pod, i cant find how they use it. Vainilla has a special treatment bc seed pods are not aromatic raw, so i was wondering if they must go under the same process
