I am brand new to gardening and have really been loving your channel. I stopped watching Netflix to watch these videos so that I can really learn what I am doing. I would love to learn about the 5 best plants for shade. My backyard is almost completely shade due to all the trees from neighboring yards and a couple in my own but I really want to create some visual interest back there. Thanks for all the great videos and inspiration.

Awesome choices......nice to know the difference of the ones you just presented and variety of them, as that can make a huge difference on someone would have passed them over for lack of not knowing how they perform in the winter months....

Great idea for a series! Border plants that stay green or at least do not die in the winter. I have several of the dwarf Nandina bushes and they are great with different colors all season. Maybe even ground covers too. Thanks. Any video you do will be great and I will watch all of them.

I would love to see suggestions for climbing plants. I have a beautiful arbor in sun and have tried two different plants and failed at both. One was roses and they did beautifully for two years and then died. I can't remember the name of the other one I tried. I would love to see your ideas for how to plant for arbors!!! I love ALL of your videos!!! Thank you!

I would love a 5 for 5 video series. I now live in Florida for 3 years, zone 9a so I love succulents, to say the least. Flowering varieties are nice too. I've lived up north most of my life and I do miss colorful plants. Lots of green down here. But who's complaining. Thanks

All of your videos are awesome and truly inspirational. I love gardening but I have a lot to learn. I have learned so much from you and because of your videos all of my pots and baskets looked amazing all summer this year. Still looks good but I know I need to start switching it out for fall. You truly have a gift for inspiring and I just wanted to say thank you. BM

Let's see. Some ideas. Shade plants. Sun loving plants. Low Ph. High Ph. How to care and amend soil. Lawns. Flowering perennials. Annuals. Shrubs edible and ornamental. Trees edible and ornamental (different varieties, sizes-grafted etc.) Plant habit and how to pick the right plant. You could brake it down by plant genus. Just do dogwoods, Japanese maple, etc. Climbers and spreading plants. Deciduous and coniferous and evergreen plants. It is a joy watching your channel. Can't wait for new videos to come out. Admire your courage and ability to get in front of the camera and present so well.

Love this and all the shrubs you shared! As for your question, I would love to see what you recommend for specimen trees, but that also goes to a bit warmer zone, maybe 8-9. I was so excited about the dogwood and blue holly, until I saw that they only go to zone 7 and I live in 8b. Maybe I can find something similar in place of those. I've wanted a red-twig dogwood forever, but even more so after seeing how you used those twigs in planters and arrangements! You're so talented, Laura!

I'm really concerned about how my garden is going to look in the winter. I have kind of a cottage garden look. Hollyhocks, Annabelle hydrangeas, lavender, autumn joy sedum, purple cone flower. I'm having the hardest time finding some type of evergreen shrub to pop in around it to hold interest in the winter. Unfortunately right now, once everything dies back, its just going to look like a bunch of sticks and a birdbath full of sempervivums 😂😭😂😅 Your videos have been so helpful though!

This question might sound snarky, but I promise it isn't: Laura, how do you incorporate the red berries of a Winterberry or Holly bush with your otherwise "red-free" garden? Do you feel that the red throughout the summer is out of place with all the pinks and lavenders?

I'm in zone 5 also in Northern Colorado. How does elevation effect plants, specifically regarding full sun? I tend to burn everything that I plant in full sun even when the plant is specific for full sun. I burn my vegetables, flowers, everything. Are they just cooking being at 5,000 feet?

Five zone five plants for all seasons. If I were to plant just five plants on my property what would they be for something blooming all year long? Also I have a full acre property of sandy loam, we're currently removing the old locust and elm trees and trying to decide what to replace them with in 2018. I have bees and several wildlife habitats on the property, the trees were mostly taken out by a rough winter and severe windstorm, would love something that looked nice and leant itself neatly to the birds and butterflies. Thanks!
