I got an "Emotional Healing Tattoo" I'd like to share..(and I don't think I could personally share this infront of anyone) I got a Broken Sword tattoo to remind me that even though I'm seen as trash or useless I still have some edges that can cut "A broken sword is still a sword" . And I got it in white ink since no one can see how broken I feel and how I'm still trying my best. 😅 Feels weird sharing this
@@ameyaghogare9307 still not okay coz things got worse. I needed to hear/read something like this. Thank you very much! I'm still here so I ain't giving up 🙂
@Jude Joseph Lumba First of all I love sword tattoos, secondly, I can't imagine that you'd be seen as trash or be useless, you wrote a precious comment that will help some people out there for sure. ♥
I’ve been working on a leg sleeve for my mom. She passed in 2018 from cancer. I have on my leg her initials, a rose, and a candle going out. The smoke from the candle is going throughout the piece. It is a work in progress. I love it! All black & grey
@@chriscoop6852 bro I’m doing the same thing on my arm but for my aunt I have a gross with praying hands it’s a working process and really expensive but I’m about to get a stair case up and some clouds
Timely video for me, as I'm 6 weeks out from my first (at age 50+!) tattoo, and the reason I never did this before was fear of regret. After recently losing a four-legged, beloved family member after 17 years, a memorial tattoo immediately became a no brainer for me. Keep up the good work.
First tattoo. I mixed up both the fact that I was able to overcome something that I tried to fight every day for almost 16 years along with what helped me defeating that. I had the idea almost three years ago but I decided to not doing that because what I was trying to fight was still alive. Last year, around the end of August, I decided to get a tattoo just for remind to myself that I was able to defeat it. I waited until May 2021 when I went and booked an appointment for that and got it done on July. Now I have a second appointment scheduled to add some more details to it and compete the story about how I defeat it. I had someone who asked me a few days later I got it done, if I'd regret to get that tattoo in a few years. I answered to him: "You can ask me this question in 10 years and you'll get the same answer: no I won't". P.S. Thank you, your video about the healing process helped me a lot while my tattoo was healing 😄
My most recent tattoo is my favourite tattoo so far. I grew up playing The Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time (even though I was born in 2001) and it's still my all-time favourite game. I got a quarter sleeve done dedicated to it; I have Young Link and Saria sitting on a stump outside the Forest Temple entrance playing ocarinas with the notes of the lost woods theme coming out of both ocarinas. Love it so much
That’s awesome! I also recently got a Zelda tattoo. The piece is all the games I’ve completed so it’s got the Ocarina of time, Wolf link, a Korok from Wind waker, a Loft wing from Skyward sword and Triforce and Hylian shield
I always wanted to get tattoos but for me, I needed them to mean something. I already got 2 and getting my 3rd one in a couple of weeks. Some people might not like them, others might and I don't really care about other people's opinion. Because there is a message and a story behind the designs. To me it's a reminder of the challenges I had to go through. When I tell people the meaning behind them, they always say '' whoa that's pretty dark''. I know it is, but to me it means that if I got through these hard times, I can do it again.
Every single tattoo I have is on your list, I’ve never once regretted a single tattoo over the last 22 years. Memorials, tributes, pets, my son, nostalgia from my younger years, major events in my life (like time stamps)
It's been my experience that the tattoos most people regret (aside from an exes name) are trendy tattoos. Anything that's cool in the moment ends up being VERY not cool when the moment passes. The best advice I got before I started getting tattoos was to avoid trendy tattoos and get something that's personal to you. I followed the advice and don't have any regrets about any of my tats.
I got a tribal tattoo. It was a trend and I wanted it because I was born in the 90's and tribal was the trend of the 90's. It's a panda. It's been 10 years and although a little faded, it's still awesome!
@@StellaLunaStar94 sounds like you're more of the exception than the rule. Moreover you're actually kinda proving my point... That tattoo is personal to you. It's a trendy art style for the time sure, but it has meaning to you, not just a faf tattoo for the sake of following a fad. I'm sure your panda is awesome. More power to you! ☺️
one of my favorite tattoos I have is a dolphin jumping out of the ocean with "I love you" written in my best friend's hand writing who passed away a year ago. Absolutely love it, will never regret it.
I'm getting my first tattoo next week and I'm beyond excited! I was so happy when you mentioned getting a nostalgic tattoo because I'm getting Invader Zim on my forearm. Invader Zim was my favorite childhood tv show and I still get that adrenaline rush whenever I hear that opening theme song 20 years later.
My first tattoo is a nostalgia tat, its from treasure planet with the map and the actual planet on my forearm with a bunch of dots as the "stardust" in between. This tat also represents something to me and my mom as its a movie we always watched together at the very least 2x a year every year and I'm now 22
I am heavily into Buddhism & Japanese culture. I’m also heavily tattooed. Becoming a Buddhist helped me overcome a lot of pain/trauma that I experienced as a child. The teachings of Buddha got me through some dark days. That’s on the top half of me. My legs are dedicated to my ancestral linage. ALL things Africa. My back is dedicated to all things astrological. I have the solar system on my back. With my kids ruling planets being highlighted (if that makes sense).
I agree that's why my first tattoo will be my spirit animal the wolf, then turn it into a sleeve that represents life and death that I have endured my whole life, then a green fire arrow on my right arm to represent going through hard struggles and coming out better for it
You are exactly right about emotional healing tattoos. I have a fairly large one that enabled me to end a bad chapter of my life so I could begin a new one. I process physical pain much better than emotional, so I told the artist to make it as painful as possible. He looked at me like I was from mars. I said “I need to feel it, can you please do that for me?” He understood what I meant and obliged my request. It was a beautiful pain that allowed me to let go and to forgive myself. The tattoo image itself has no connection to that person, but it has its own meaning that applies to my life every day. All of my tattoos have a story, and there are more stories I have to put an image or symbol with.
@@EvolveINK not sure on the next family piece, have to figure out it’s gonna be… next scheduled appointment is March to start a leg sleeve! Nostalgic cartoons…Thundercats, He-man, Ninja Turtles, Voltron, etc…
I will get my first tattoo tomorrow. It’s a symbol that reminds me of my time in Berlin which will end this month. It reminds be of what I‘ve learned here and the persons I met. Looking forward to it
Just found your channel and its awesome, wanted to share my sleeve tattoo. Its kinda about #1 in your list here. I have always wanted a space themed sleeve but wanted to fit some family element to it. So my Mum always has loved/does love ladybugs so I got a planet that was just red and black. My grandmother loved frogs and I got another planet green and yellow. And finally my grandfather was in the navy so I got a navy blue and battleship grey planet. And I couldn't be happier with the sleeve! There is a lot more to the arm as well but it also gives me the freedom to either tell this story to people or to say "No, no meaning. Just a cool tattoo" when it comes up
Two weeks ago I got my first tattoo in honor of all my 4 legged babies in heaven. I got a heart with wings and paw prints inside the heart. This tattoo helped me heal from my losses and I feel so content when I look at every day. ❤️🐾
I’m planning on getting a full Skyrim sleeve cause some of my best memories are of playing that game, the first piece is my sisters name, in Dovahzul (the language of dragons in the game), as she died in childbirth and I never got to meet her.I’m so excited and can’t wait to remember her on my arm forever
My first tatt was of my dog with wings that i grew up with ❤️ i had not cried in 5 years but when i lost him i balled for a week and couldnt look at his photo for months …the hardest loss for me ❤️
I'm gonna get my first ever tattoo on Aug. 31, I'll have it done on my outer right forearm. And I'll also get a semi-colon tattoo on my wrist area, I understand it'll hurt like hell but I've been thru much worse with my mental health issues.
I waited until last week to start my tattoo journey due to fear. At 26, I've come to the realization that I have so many scars on my skin that are my fault that I regret so deeply that I shouldn't regret decorating the body that loved me when I didn't with art that holds better memories than the marks I already have. Even though my first ones aren't covering any scars, I'm already excited for the next step
My first tattoo was a tribute tattoo, got a “999” on my chest, juice wrld saved me from some dark times so I had to make sure the legend is never forgotten
I'm 38 and i've wanted a sleeve for about 20 years now. I never got one mostly due to fear of regretting it later on. I do have a shoulder tattoo and i do regret that one so that didn't help. I finally started getting a sleeve this year. I have the interior of my forearm done and i have an appointment in september to get my upper arm done. I'll finish the forearm after that then the inside of my upper arm. I pretty much have ideas for everything.
If you're really tied to your land another category could be tattoos that depict landmarks or environments where you grew up or that you often visited. I'm actually going in next week for a piece in which I've asked the artist to include the specific mountain that towers right above my town in the Alps, because I love my mountains with all my heart but life is not easy here and since I know I'll eventually have to leave I want to take it with me. I don't see anyone ever regretting getting something like that
I have Chers name tattooed on my back, a swan of my pet swan I had, Dad did a grim reaper on upper back, chest piece of gargoyles cemetery and grim reaper in memory of my Dad who passed in 2019, now a left arm sleeve of a dark twisted theme and yes all the pieces are nostalgic. Love this
Thank you so much Tammy! Since you watched this video, I have a feeling you’ll like this one as well 🐺🤙🏻 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Bp6wQadtKK4.html
I have a butterfly tattoo with the word princess under it. It has a deep meaning to me. My family since I was little has called me their butterfly princess and they still do. And I’m 26 years old.
I'm getting an emotional healing/memorial tattoo for my mom, who committed suicide this year. It has been the hardest thing I've ever gone through. The journey to accepting a new normal includes ink therapy.
I’m so sorry to heal that hali. I think it’s beautiful that you are getting tattoo and you can know that your mother will always be with you. Thank you for sharing btw ❤️
I've been considering getting my daughter's name in Elder Futhark in a band around my upper forearm. I've been thinking about it for about a year, but I'm 30yo with no tattoos so I'm hesitant to do it.
I'm going next week to get a tattoo in honor of one of my kids. I'm already planning out the others. It's also a nostalgic memory so it fits two of these categories
I might add to that list the traditional polynesian tattoos. they look great and if you do your research and get a great artist he will make a truly unique piece that will describe your life, experiences and values. I don't know how you can regret something like that (unless it was done by a bad artist then it's on you)
I recently got my first tattoo its a d20 with it being a 20 on top then a semicolon is on it too it was to commemorate me surviving my attempt when i was 16 and to show that I'm lucky to be here
I’m getting a tattoo of gon a killua from hunter x hunter and it has alot om meaning to me, because it represents me and my best friend and also my favourite anime
I would not get a tattoo of a parent while you are young and the parents are still alive. I was in an unhealthy relationship with my parents and believe it or not I was 28 years old when I found out that they were actually abusing me emotionally. Till the age of 28, I thought that my mother would be the most important and precious person in my life! Just be cautious. xo from Switzerland
I have a quarter sleeve of Pokémon because it’s nostalgic to me. I still love Pokémon. Mostly the games. The anime, not as much anymore. I like the older seasons of Pokémon.
i got a "portrait" of my sister done in an oldschool style, which i really like and i thought it was a fun idea since i really like oldschool tattoos, first i was bit sceptical if you could see that it was her as oldschool doesn't have that much detail, but damn it looks just like her and as you said, it probably won't get "old" for me as my sister will always be my sister.
and as a family, me and my sister both got half an apple tattooed and my parents each got a tattoo of a branch, the apple actually was a drunk tattoo of mine i got while on graduation vacation kind of, so we thought about how we could put meaning into this and voila, this idea was born.
I am currently designing an emotiaonal healing tattoo, but I need a full Sleeve for all the topics... Currently sitting here with self printed temporal "tattoos" to get a feeling for it and once it will be washed off I will feel nacked again. So for 100% I am getting that sleeve.
I have a tattoo planned to represent my kids but it is icons from movie/show characters they share a name with. One shares a name with a jedi (sort of) and so am getting his lightsaber the other shares the name with a Disney princess so I am getting her crown.
I went from 300 lbs t0 180lbs and have cellulite, I have this crazy ass tat idea of itachi eyes on my chest and have it bleed down my stomach and cover those things up
Ten years ago I got a memorial tattoo for my Dad. I regret it for two reasons, 1, the artist was shit and gave me a shit tattoo. 2, I have learned some things about my dad since his passing that I do not like.
I’m thinking about getting my first: an emotional healing tattoo; Japanese calligraphy that translates to “You are not alone”, it comes from a show, but I just feel like a physical reminder of it would help me keep it in mind. What do you think?
I've got a memorial tattoo for a close friend of mine who passed away. Just simple script saying 'the memories remain' . Also got a nostalgia tattoo. Which is the lightning bolt from the original power rangers logo. One of my favorite shows as a kid
I just booked my first large tattoo and I came looking for tips because I’m a little nervous but seeing you say the nostalgic tattoo is a good idea then seeing your dragon ball tattoo made those nerves completely go away considering the tattoo I book is a dragon ball sleeve Thank you very much 😁
This is a great video, for a while now I've wanted to get a tattoo and if I did I have said to myself to get ones that are meaningful. But have been hesitant cause of not knowing if I could handle it. Plus I don't want to get small thing's, especially one Idea I want to do for a loved one who has past away, and me wanting to get a decent sized tattoo cause that's what they deserve. Also lately have been trying to find shops and a artist, that do the things I want, but this is only the beginning of the research so hopefully I can find a place and person to do it and that I don't put this off because of me not thinking did be able to Handel the process of getting the tattoos I want. Thanks this helps alot.
I'm here to say I saw the thumbnail with the color dog portrait and like that more even though I clicked on the other thumbnail you use showing off your black and gray. I clicked on the black and gray one because I wasn't ready to watch yet when the color was shown now I'm ready to watch. Just letting you know that your data may be a little incorrect as a result if you are running a test 🤘
I got my tattoo was a hard decision but I will never regret. My tattoo is my favorite tractor brand lily's I love lily's they remind me of new beginnings
@@EvolveINK has some meaning but not a lot I did research and Romeo Lacoste said on his RU-vid channel a first tattoo doesn’t have to have a ton of meaning mine only has 2 one because the music on that album got me through high school and because I just like the design of the cover
I got a momoral tattoo for my childhood best friend who died of lukima- she adored trolls the toy with colourful hair - so I have a troll tattooed on me with a teardrop and a polly pocket figure next to them because her nickname was pollyy pocket by her mother and me ❤😢. Won't lie I miss her so much, I also have one for my cat who passed away her name was kirrie and I have a cat chasing a butterfly with her name underneath
I’m gonna be getting my first tattoo, I am definitely going nostalgic route, I’m getting a Lion King tattoo, I have had rheumatoid arthritis since I was a baby, so when I was little and in a lot of pain ( which back then was daily) I would ask my mom if I could watch Lion King, and it would always make me smile ( except of course when Mufasa dies) plus, it made me think, if Simba can go through all that he did, I can get through my arthritis pain, and that movie has helped me with my pain to this day, whether it be arthritis pain, or dizziness, or even just a cold, I just watch the movie, or listen to the soundtrack, and it makes me feel a little better. 😊💜🦁👑
I've been binging your videos as I prepare for my first one. I love the idea of a memorial or a tattoo to represent your kids. I have one idea for each kid that I can't wait to get tattooed! But tip advice for parents. I wouldn't do your kids names only because in this day and age you never know if they are going to change them. I'd do a date, or something that reminds you of them, maybe a zodiac signs, something that can't be changed. Also, I am REALLY kicking myself for not saving my grandmothers doodles. She made beautiful pin up style beauties and she always said they weren't very good doodles but *I* loved them and would love one as a tattoo but alas I don't have one saved. Anyway, Thank you for the awesome videos!
I recently got my first tattoo last month for my bday i didn’t really notice it but I got dragon scales and ima add onto it. It’s gonna fade into blossom petals. The whole reasoning to this tattoo is that dragon scales are extremely strong and wrathful and the blossom petals are to signify calm and free life
I got a clock tattoo on my shoulder thats devided into 4 pieces and every piece of it is the birth time of my three kids and the top piece is our wedding anniversary... Black n grey btw 😊
I drew out two memorial tattoos one for me and one for my mom mine took me an entire year I lost my grandma and dad and I was super close to them so one day Im going to get it and I plan to get a tattoo to commemorate my daughter's birth
The first tattoo I got was mom and dad written on it with a cross and a rosary, my parents means a lot to me, they have always been there for me always when I needed any support, I got 4 tattoos now, last month I got a rose dove and a clock with my date of birth and time of birth on it, great video, I am a new subscriber to your channel
Omg you are so right about the memorial tattoos. I got one done of the Beast from Disney's Beauty and the Beast to pay tribute do someone who was important to me. He sadly was taken by covid 3 months ago. He was also my fave artist and he played the role of Beast in the musical on stage a few years back . I wanted to get it done 5 years ago but I found out I was pregnant and left it on hold. I'd absolutely get a tattoo to pay tribute to my kids. The whole infinity symbol is being done to death so I was thinking the T REX Skull from the Jurassic park logo with my daughters names.
i wanted to put a sleeve on both my arms, one on my left for my grandma who was my go to person when i had it rough who sadly enough passed away 7 years ago, and one worked out around a koi fish for my transformation.(japanes mythology). but i'm not really sure how to take it on.
well, I've already gotten a tattoo due to being cancer-free. that is "breathe Sanskrit" which reminds me of a long time that I could not breathe without an oxygen mask.
Ok the only one I’d disagree with is getting a tattoo for/of your kids. That’s great and sweet, but if you have a falling out and end up not talking to each other and hate each other you’ll have a tattoo reminding you of someone you possibly hate. Don’t come at me, I’m just playing devils advocate. I’ve seen it in my own family, people have got tattoos for each other in my family and then covered it up later when they stopped talking to that person
I think my dad had paid for my first tattoo. Only fitting that I get a dragonfly tattoo for him. He had actually passed away in July of last year, so it be fitting that my next will be for him
