Testosterone definitely went down after baby was born. I also felt less ambitious, which actually boosted my overall happiness :).
@blahlah1029
@blahlah1029 3 года назад
Strange, I feel more ambitious because I want to provide for my baby. Also, I believe my testosterone was going down prior to baby because I used to train but had stopped due to a pretty major injury, however I noticed if my baby was put in a position where she could be harmed, even minor stuff, I felt ready to fight anyone. Js wierd how everyone's body is different

It’s interesting that you say that. My husband felt extremely ambitious with his first child and with our second, he calmed down a lot and he described it as more of a focused ambition and mindful drive. More planned out. He enjoys staying home with us more this time around. It’s nice and at the same time I can still see how ambitious he is but also how much he takes the time to sit and relax and enjoy the moments with us .

For testosterone: You need patience for a baby. You want a safe environment and are more tolerant of annoying people, to keep the 'scene' safe. With our newborn, I dont have as much energy/time to workout as I did before. Also, things are more 'cute' than before the baby lol

Great video man. It’s really really nice to finally find a dude making aesthetically pleasing and accurate videos for dads. Disappointed it took me this long to find you! I feel like there is so much out there for moms and dads don’t always get included. So thanks for making this video and channel. I’m headed off to watch more while this baby sleeps on me, haha! Love the video. Definitely didn't expect the PP hair loss -- but what's even crazier is I didn't lose hair pretty much for my entire pregnancy until about 3 months post partum. Then all the hair shed! It was crazy! The human body is REMARKABLE. We just had our first baby 18 months ago, and all your points are SPOT ON and all the things we ultimately learned, but would've loved a video like this
@candacejackson5487
@candacejackson5487 3 года назад
The hair shedding is due to the fact that when pregnant, hair gets locked into whatever phase it's in at the time. So hair that's currently in a growth or dormant phase doesn't cycle into a shedding phase for all those months (people normally shed 100 hairs per day). That's why pregnant women tend to have thing, long hair. It just keeps growing and not shedding! After about 3-4 months post-partum, when hormones shift, hair that was in growth or dormant phases cycles into the shedding phase.

Trainer here . Keep your T levels up by doing push ups (50 reps) crunches or sit ups (50 reps) and body weight squats (50 reps) twice a day. Once in the AM and PM. Walk with your baby outside if it is not too hot. You can also pace back and forward in your home if you have the space to do so.

I can second the dangers of baby walkers. When I was a baby all those 30+ years ago my dad said I nearly died when I fell out of a baby walker and landed next to the fireplace. As a baby I was attracted by the light of the flames so I crawled into the flames. A few weeks in hospital and I made a full recovery but definitely not safe.
@scottforster758
@scottforster758 6 месяцев назад
Well ya don’t just throw a baby in a walker & look the other way. Its the most common mistake. 24/7 next to the kid no matter what they are doing. If i gotta pee, i drag her in the walker into the bathroom…. Nothing to do with the walker unless ya rely on it to parent.

Ooh that fontanelle! My first 2 daughters, was just fine, it was on the top, hard to find because of the fro. 3rd baby, oh my God, it was wide open, in a v shape all the way to the top of thr eye brows. And all the way the back of her head. Went to the Dr , he was fascinated, he knew about it and never actually saw one quiet this open like that. My mum helped me out a lot, post-partum depression, and me baby's scary head. You see the pulse between her brows, she has always been beautiful and now turning 7. 😅😅

I don't 100% agree with the perspective on toys. I do agree that the toys alone don't help babies get smarter. Where I have a different perspective is that there is value in letting kids learn and explore on their own and not constantly asking questions or describing what's happening. From my understanding about Montessori and Montessori based toys, the parent's job is to help the child only when needed and to let them play and explore their toys freely. The toys themselves do have an impact on how the baby learns and there's a difference between natural, non-mechanical toys vs. plastic, mechanical toys that impact how they learn. Of course this is all dependent on every child's personality, age, and stage of development.
@dadverb

Thanks for sharing this - 100% agreement that it is not the toy, but what you do with it that counts. It can be a $300 research-based whosiwhatsit or a cardboard box. Just spend as much time as you can with that kid doing stuff, and narrate it as well. Their brains and language will grow faster than you expect if you do.

I didn’t know about number 3 and as far as the newborn not having any tears I didn’t know that until I had my baby in September 2020 and found out for myself first hand

That food allergy thing blows my mind. I have a 3 month old, 10 year old and 11 year old. I remember my dad giving my oldest peanut butter crackers when she was under 2 and I got so mad and was freaking out because I've always heard not to give any form of peanuts before 2. I guess a lot has changed in over a decade lol
