I've put a lot of time in the Hind in DCS, but a good pilot is always learning. I at least know what to refer to the maneuvers I do I the Hind, now. Sharing this with some people who will definitely appreciate the tips. Great work!

Thanks buddy, greatly appreciate. Sometimes you just need to give names to the thing and its a lot easier to understand :)

Thank you for making me aware of those terms. As someone that is coming from fix wings to prefer Hind I love that there is some terminology like this. If you have more to share on some other topic related to helos please share, video is highly educative and informative.

Thanks for letting me know. There is a lot to dig into. Lets see how this kind of content is received by the community. I am kind of hesitant to share those things. But If people like this kind of more educational stuff we could continue to share things like this. Is there something particular that you are looking for?

Glad it was helpful! Thanks for letting me know. I was planning to do some more about BCM perhaps later down the line, regardless if you practice those maneuvers it is not only you becoming a better pilot but knowing how to re-engage targets with swag 😎.

Very nice tips, was flying the Hind quite a lot, but recently had to stop due to time constraints. But now Im getting back to it and was looking for something to make my BCM better. Thanks!

Hey! That’s great to read. The parameters for other helos differ. A kA50 for instance can climb with 45° with no issue, try to avoid this with the Mi24 though and stick with the recommended 30° pitch. When flying fast, try to initiate the zoom slowly in the beginning. I am looking forward seeing you online in the hind! 😄

@@helldivermando That is very true. To be honest with you, I am a rotorhead. My most flown modules were the Huey and Hind, when i had to make a pause from DCS i flew the KA-50 because i like its flexibility (you can fly it like a Hind or do hillhugging in it). But to the point - i am not much of a number guy, but i can tell you I always felt that helos like the Huey and Black Shark can be flown way more agressive than the Hind or Hip. It just felt more natural because of their agility. The Hind is literally more like a tank, you can feel its weight and aerodynamics although its "just" a sim. I really cant explain it. But what i do know it makes you think ahead, and despite its brutal appearance it actually likes to be handled gently. Where in the Huey/Black Shark you could yank around the collective/stick way more, get out of the safe boundries and actually get away with it. In the Hind? Not so much, she loves to VRS if you dont respect the descent parameters. But anyway, gave you a sub. Great content! Edit: although i thought i already did sub your channel, was it not called Chariot 242? :)
@helldivermando
@helldivermando Год назад
@@MrScar88 Absolutely all your points I absolutely agree with. I have never flown the Huey but actually consider the KA50 to be my main airframe. Its just that we fly Helos on ECW 99% of the time so we mostly stick to the Hind. But she is a beauty and so deadly if you underestimate it. Great to read that you are another helo enthusiast! The Channel was called Chariot 242, yes. I renamed it yesterday because I thought it might be confusing and "Helldiver" is the name of the group, so it would reflect that. Welcome to the Channel buddy and hey, I know you are GCIing a lot on blue side. If you need a change once in a while you are welcome to GCI for us. We are looking for someone dedicated atm, since for larger OPS we really need one before our brains explode. If thats something you might want to do, then reach out and feel welcome :)

@@Bilate07 Oh pretty cool! I am curious if the parameters are similar to the ones of the Hind. One difference might be that you will have to Zoom below 200kph probably. Sound exiting!

Hi Mando👋 First, can I say this is another beautifully produced video. Exactly the right, and complimentary, levels, use of text, VO, and everything that makes it virtually impossible for the audience to turn away from the screen and fail to take in what you are communicating. Simply wonderful 😀👍 I love the Mi-24P. Unfortunately, I am an atrocious pilot. I seem to be the sort of learner that responds better to in person teaching. However, I'm caught in a catch 22. I am so rubbish that I can't put my lack of skills on show to a real person, yet require a real person to guide/instruct me on how to improve. I get the theory In my head, I know exactly what I should be doing and why. Thing is, without seeing someone perform these abstract notions I can't seem to actually do what I think I should. This video has shown me what I've thought was the correct way to carry out these maneuvers. I can now practise what I've seen, and told by, someone that knows what they are talking about. If you are to make more of these types of videos that synergise the abstract and the practical I would be thrilled. I imagine I'm not the only person to think this way. Regardless of what content you make going forward, I thoroughly enjoy whatever the topic you apply your talents too. If you would consider making more training type videos on the Mi-24P, I for one could not be happier. All the very best to you and yours as well as to my fellow audience members. Cheers, Dave

Hello Dave, I am ver thankful to read your comment and touched by it. To bring the understanding of the Mi-24 a little more into practice and help people to improve their experience, is really what this video was about. I will consider to make more content like this and hope you improve your skill over time. Keep in mind that in DCS it really need time to pracitice until you become better. We are all improving bit after bit :)

This is a great video, really appreciate having the text highlight the key points. would be strengthened if you demonstrate the manouever from the pilot's perspective I think? giving Hind-specific demo is fine, we can adapt that to other helos

Hey , ok will include more cockpit footage next time. Yes, you can adapt it to other helos. Actually every maneuver works, even with the KA50.

All u said is about gaming...on the real combat environnement gaining altitude = death...manpads AA zsu....shilka...tunguska....tor system or long range AAA missiles could shoot u down before u open fire on any target spotted or not
@helldivermando
@helldivermando 7 месяцев назад
I wouldnt say that you can compare DCS to a real combat environmnent too much. Its like shooting a gun in real life and playing ARMA. So if you want to learn about how to fly real helicopter combat you should fly a Mi24 irl inside the RAF. The procedures I shared are based on standard russian airforce manuals. So as real as it can be in a simulated environment.

does this also work for other helis like the ka50?
@helldivermando
@helldivermando 10 месяцев назад
Yes it does. Fundamentals count for every helo. There are slight differences in performance though. One of them is that the Shark is very maneuverable and can do a zoom at an angle of 45° without a stall. Be careful though in the break turns. Since its a coaxial rotor. Above 250 kph with a high weapon load, the blades might touch - wich means "end of mission". :) Try it out.
@csh5414
@csh5414 4 месяца назад
That’s great but you give no information on what the manoeuvres are for. Anybody that’s flown the hind in game for a few hours can perform these, although they may not know the names. Most of these are totally useless in PvP, So why should we know them?
@helldivermando
@helldivermando 4 месяца назад
You are missing the context :) . If you don’t understand those maneuvers don’t be too quick to think they are useless. These maneuvers are the basis of any basic flying and engagements in general. I understand that simpilots have different skill sets and scope when it comes to flying. In my perspective these maneuvers are absolutely important and should be practiced regularly.

@@csh5414 yes absolutely. If you are a combat helo pilot you would know where they tie into. There are very other good examples of these maneuvers executed by real helo pilots on YT feel free to check for reference. My video is intended to improve people’s performance in DCS not to teach aviators.
