Vanilla Mojito
50ml Spiced Rum
4 x lime wedges
large pinch of mint
15ml ODK Vanilla Syrup - www.ordkmixers.co.uk
Dash Soda (lemonade ;) )
Method: Build & Churn with crushed ice
Garnish: 2 sprigs of mint and a lime wheel
Glass: Highball / tall Hobstar
How we doinjg guys and girls my name is Tom Dyer. Todays video I'm goinog to show you how to make a Mojito, PLus PLUS show you five flair moves while making this mojito.
These moves are super simple anmd easy to perform. Just make sure you practiice and train hard to get them perfect.

Thanks Lewis. I will continue to upload eveyr Tuesday and Thursday for now. That's all I can manage with everything else. @@TomDyerBartender I think that's why I like them. You can still do them behind a busy bar and if you do them smoothly and confidently, people still love the show and you can do them for something as simple as a rum and coke.

Hey Tom, there is a controversy about muddling mint, what do you think about?

I think you do whatever you think is best. Essentially if the drink tastes good then do whatever what works for you. 99% of people will it be able to tell the difference between muddled and "non-muddled" mint anyway. There is also the discussion that muddling lime too much will release oils from lime peel giving a slightly bitter taste to the drink. This is why i also like making mojitos with fresh lime juice and mint so no muddling, no oils and essentially more consistency in the drink. Hope that helps?

I work in a high capacity, club style bar in Southern California. I currently have a few flair moves that I perform during my shifts, do you have any advice for someone who wants to add flair to their bartending, but had to work at sick a fast Pace?

Find a selection of moves that you can do and start to practice them a lot. The more you use them thr faster you will be able to perform them and they will become second nature. It's not necessarily about doing only specific moves, but choosing the right time to perform a certain move. Simple rolls, thumb rolls, throws behind tbr back and into the garbage can be very very fast and even speed up service. Flair pours and multiple pours with 2 or 3 bottles also look bad ass and speed up service. Start easy and build your repertoire of tricks and you'll see that they just happen without thought after time. Finally remember. Speed isnt everything. People want their drink fast, but if you entertain or impress them they wont think about the wait time. Make sense? Basically keep their mind active watching you while they wait for their drink.
