Thank you for this. I don't care too much for bells and whistles. My primary interest is how long the dehumidifier will last - and how heavy is it? My current dehumidifier is very simple: the body is metal (steel, I think,) it has a plastic, vented grill in the front, a plastic bucket that pulls out simply from the back of the machine, one knob on the front, an orange light to tell me when it is running, and an automatic turn off when the bucket is full. I purchased it in 1995, and it worked flawlessly for 28 or 29 years. The only issue I've had is that the unit itself is very heavy, but it rolls fine on its wheels. Finally, it has become rusted and now will no longer turn off at all. (I must unplug it to "turn it off.") I'm well aware that whatever plastic junk (sorry,) I can buy today will last me a couple of years if I'm lucky, and that the computerized light readout panel will probably fail very quickly. At least it will weigh less and be "prettier" (not a concern, really!) than my current, dear old work horse of a dehumidifier. I'm trying to find one that isn't failure prone. Reviews that were written (on some websites,) within a week after purchase aren't useful!
