Gloomstalker Ranger is one of my favorite classes to play. My top 5 Feats I'd suggest 1. Sharpshooter 2. Eldrich Adept ( Devil Sight + Armor of Shadows) 3. Shadow Touched +1 Wis Silent Image 4. Piercer +1 Dex 5. Skulker.

My wife took her Rogue Assassin into GS Ranger and we RP'd it as her becoming a Witch Hunter. She would hide in the dark, invisible to the creepier things that lurked there, striking and killing when the opportunity presented itself. Our DM rolled with it and we overheard that the creatures of the night were afraid of HER!

Had a friend play a Bugbear Gloom Stalker that used the Polearm Master/Sentinel combo with his invisibility against darkvision to devastate our enemies. Other than that I'd recommend... 1. Fey Touched for +1 Wis, Misty Step, and Silvery Barbs. Blessed is a good option if your DM doesnt allow Silvery Barbs though. 2. If elf then Elven Accuracy for +1 Dex or Wis and take full advantage of invisibility against darkvision. 3. Crossbow Expert gives 4 attacks at lvl 5 for your opening salvo and greatly assist you when scouting/fighting in close quarters.

I really like combining Gloom Stalker and Battle Master fighter with the Urban Bounty Hunter Backround and Tinkerer tools. Use a bow or crossbow, go variant Human you have lots of fun going on! Keep up the great work all!

For two years I have been playing as a Feywild firbolg healer dream Circle druid. One of my friends at the table made a owlfolk dream Walker Ranger. Our DM totally allowed it but we did break the game very quickly.

if you're an elf ranger, elven accuracy is fun. +1 dex gives you a +4 modifier at 4th level from point buy and super advantage is always fun, especially since you'll be abusing being invisible to most enemies

I’m in the process of making a Gunslinger Gloomstalker multi class. Super excited about it.

With both sharpshooter and skulker as well as a level or 2 in twilight cleric, you can be an excellent sniper if you can travel at night or within an underdark setting.

My favorite idea for maxing gloom stalker is not a feat really... it's a single-level dip into Twilight Cleric for the 300ft of Darkvision and whatever cantrips/spells you might be able to make use of from that, which is surprisingly a lot for 1 level. 300ft away with a longbow and sharpshooter... I mean... do ya really need anything else? Oh yeah, how about being a wereraven too, flying in your hybrid form, sniping from all over outdoor night encounters from a 300ft hemisphere lol. Possibly 330ft if your DM is generous... the Gloom Stalker Darkvision does state after all that your Darkvision is extended by 30ft if you already have it "from your race." Not only that, but that's 300ft of Darkvision that you can share with your party for an hour before you take to your sky sniping. They can wait in ambush while your target(s) try to come towards you following the apparent direction of your arrows. By the time they get to where your team is lying in wait, the party might just basically be clean up at that point lol.

Now I need to make a Kenku Gloomstalker so I can be Darkwing Duck.

Legacy svirfneblin with Svirfneblin magic. This allows you to be impossible to find by any means. Additionally, 150 feet of darkvision. The issue if you're small so either Tasha's gunner Feat, crossbowmaster, or just use a short bow

Piercer would be a good boost to damage. Maybe Mobile if you're focused on melee combat.

Drow scout/gloomstalker so my choices will be different Elven accuracy Sharp shooter Eldritch adept -devils sight Drow high magic I’m still debating my next. Probably lucky.

Keen mind and martial adept can be a awesome build.

Alert is a good feat but it doesn't seem as good as some other options on this particular build imo. it just seems a bit redundant/extra fluff on this type of char that is already going to be so stealth-oriented (assuming we have Skulker, Lucky, and Resilient feats locked in for sure) I agree with the video in general though, and ofc it all really depends on your specific char/party/campaign and how you play. E.g. do you go solo scout/sniper often, or not so much? What ratios of combat-to-other-stuff does your party spend time on? etc.

For gloom stalker: Magic initiate Druid, war caster, martial adept, dual wielder, tough

Sharpshooter by far no1. Piercer, Resilient Con then Fey Touched (Silvery Barbs), Alert other good options. Lucky is always decent for any role hehe. Skulker does almost nothing here even if thematically it is nice.
