I'm a tech noob who is trying to convince my husband to make our new BTO home smart. Thanks for making it so much easier to understand. I actually have a "disease" of forgetting to on the plug every time I plug my devices into the mobile/laptop charger. Now I know the plug can be kept on without the risk of overcharging! HI Alex, thanks for sharing your knowledge, i got an tp link tapo P100 smart plug, but when i turn it off, the power was not cut off. My smart plug is inserted into the wall socket, and my power strip is connected to the smart plug(power strip has on/off switch too), any idea what i did wrong? thanks!

It is a good idea to use it for my power strip for all my laptops and monitors. Because I personally don’t turn them off. Side note, nice cable management as well.

Google or alexa or xiaomi or are there any other good ones out there? Hi Alex can I check if it is possible to plug a smart plug onto a normal wall socket. Then connect the smart plug to a power strip ? With that I will be able to control on off for the entire power strip rite ?

Phantom power is really a problem for most computer set ups. Glad to know this would help with it!

Hi, thanks for making this video! so if I want to use smart plugs I have to leave my wifi on 24hrs? If I switch it off would the settings be reset and I need to set up everything again? I prefer to switch off my wifi when I go to sleep and just want to use smart plugs for basic functions like switching off and on using my phone and the timer for charging.
