I tried number 3 and the knot was veeery hard to get right! I'm usually pretty nifty with textile arts and crafts but I'm warning you it was tough! I needed around 15-20 tries on both my bracelet and a spare string to get it correctly. Also I encourage you to get a longer than 18 inches / 45cm initial string since I was barely able to tie the bracelet ends after I was done and my wrist is pretty thin.
