I have the easiest tip to NOT CRY when chopping onions! (I know you mostly use your chopper, but in case you don't, try this: wet a paper towel and put it on the cutting board next to the onion. THAT'S IT! Apparently, onions have an acid that's attracted to water, which is why they attack our eyes. But the paper towel attracts the acid instead because it's more water. I can't believe this trick; you should try it and tell your other subscribers! The fact that I've been chopping them for years without this trick is incredible. No more tears, hahaha 🤯
@cheyennefry Oh no! Did you get the paper towel really wet? Like sopping wet? It works best like that. Maybe your eyes are more sensitive? It's worked for everyone I've told.
If you double the recipes, you can freeze it & pull it out when you don't have a clue on what to cook or for whatever reason. I had cataract/glaucoma surgeries at the beginning of 2020, I double 4 recipes & it was enough for 16 meals over my healing process.
I line my cookie sheets with parchment paper before I bake anything in the oven. Everything cooks better - especially biscuits! Plus, the clean-up is easier and my cookie sheets stay new looking!
Yes! I bought the chopper and it came in. I saw how easy it was when you were cooking with one child on your hip using the chopper. I also picked up the silicone baking mats. Love these vids keep’em coming!!
The chicken pot pie recipe i didn't have the soup, so used creamed corn, was awesome, when do in 7qt gonna use 1 each🤠, creamy italian chicken can add 1/2 cup water xtra and add egg noodles, dont have yo boil. 'hamburger helper' a favorite, can do anything with it, anything lol. Oh love channel, im shy commenting but this came up again in hone page, wanted to share. Tyvm
I am dad, just trying to find easy and cheap recipes, so thanks so much for the excellent ideas. I had a question: in the pot pie recipe, how would you have used the onion that you forgot to put in? Thanks again!!
These recipes are right on my alley. I can't wait to make them. I want to share a tip from my son's pediatrician. A few years ago, she told me to cut the hot dogs and sausage lengthwise before I cut them on small pieces, not to cut them round because the round pieces are the same size as kid's throats and could be a shocking hazard. I hope this is helpful :)
First of all, love the videos. I found you about a week ago as I was looking up easy crock pot meals to make. I work long days as a nurse and a good crock pot meal saves my life! Going to try the chicken pot pie tomorrow for sure... looks yummy!..and I'll let my husband or grown sons make the biscuits.before I get home.... then if they get burnt, oh well...not my fault! Ha! 😀 God bless you and your family. Thank you for finding the time (I don't know how you do it) for making these videos.
I can’t wait to use some of your recipes after I get married in September. My fiancé will be so happy. He is a chef and I know the last thing he will want to do is cook when he gets home. 😊
When I cook biscuits I always put butter on the pan so they don't burn. I also found some butter flavored cooking spray. I used the cooking spray for the biscuits and it worked awesome. I found the butter flavored cooking spray at Walmart.
I have made your crockpot olive garden chicken before the last time you shared it... yummy 😋 then I saw the tic toc pasta thing and I started adding cherry tomatoes and some feta it too 🤗 so now I call it the Tic Toc olive garden dish 🤗 Thank you so very much for sharing easy crockpot meals 😋
I've seen somebody using a hand mixer to shred their chicken in the crock pot, instead of using forks. Of course it gets shredder a bit smaller and finer, maybe more appropriate for tacos or like a "Pulled Pork" textures.
For the biscuits I stopped cooking them in oven. I cook them on stove top melt butter in pan put them in then flip half way best biscuits you’ll ever have ☺️
Two solutions for the burnt biscuits or even for burnt cookies. I know it's not ideal but it can save the day to some degree. You can either use a cheese grater or lemon zester and scrape it off or if you're really good with a very sharp knife you can just cut a very small layer off of the burned portions.
Try running your onion under cold water for at least 15-30 seconds, I do that ever time bc I chop or dice onions everyday and I haven’t cried while doing it since I started running it under cold water
Hi. I can't believe that fed a family of 5 :) Iade this for our family unit of 3 - myself, 19 yr old son & 22 yr old son and found it wasn't enough :/. Delicious though....
Wow. This is another wonderful set of meals just in time for my grocery shopping trip. We love all of the sausage meals you've shared in the past and I can't wait to try this cheesy sausage meal. Great job! Love the new house.
Everything looks amazing!! I’m starving now haha. Thank you for these videos I will try. Also, I’m super curious, how did you learn how to ok all these things? And hacks? Pinterest ideas of parent taught or? Also, you must have a non picky family! My daughter and husband are picky lol.
Abby, great new recipes! I just add in some frozen mixed veggies, peas or broccoli, then it becomes a meal-all-in-one. And we get those healthy veggies into our diet. ❤
Loved all the crockpot meals you shared. Wanted to ask where do you get your Uncle Chris' seasoning? I think I heard you mention before that you use it a lot. We are planing a trip to TX to see our son so I would like to get some to try it. ;)
Chicken pot pie biscuits looked really nice. The last time I cut white onions, I thought my eyes would fall out of my head, they were so powerful it really made me tear up. A chopper would have been so nice to have. I bought a little hand chopper, but you have to put like 1000 lbs. of force behind it to get it to work. So it is basically useless. Maybe putting your biscuits on a piece of parchment paper would help. They also make cookie sheets, that are two layers, with an air layer between the bottom sheet of metal and top sheet of metal, which is supposed to give you a more gentle even heat. Perhaps your cookie sheet was to low in your oven and too close to the heating element. Oh and buy a cheap - hang in your oven - thermometer, perhaps you oven temp is off and is running hotter than what your dial says. Most ovens get out of whack eventually and run too hot or too cold. Especially if you have a 'slide the bar over' to clean your self cleaning oven, that can tend to throw off your temp in your oven, as it gets your oven very hot to burn off all the burned on food. A thermometer is a good idea for your refrigerator and freezer too.
Love these crockpot meals. Gosh yes, that chopper is the best. As a working mom it saves me so much time. 😇😇 You're the bomb girlfriend. 💜💜 And so glad you guys were okay from your trip. I meant to say it on your last vlog, but I have my squirrel moments. LOL
I call those noodles pigtail pasta. Lol 🤷🏻♀️ I love them. I'm totally gonna try some of these. Also, why didn't I think of just chopping the sausage in half in the plastic?? Oi. 🤦🏻♀️
@@thesimplifiedsaver7052 oh thanks for responding. I didn't expect that. I always comment on other youtubers but never get a response. Awesome. Loved your nails in this video. Do you do them yourself or go get them done ?
