I was shocked when you said recently that you had nearly stopped doing RU-vid videos - I thought - what would we do without you? So many of us rely on you for the best styling on RU-vid, we know it’s a ton of work, but we need you!💕
I love your style, Gemma. I'm 77 and still enjoy clothes - classic simplicity is my style too. I love boots too, and made a super discovery for those, like me, with slightly fuller calves. Jilsen boots make boots for wide calves that are made in superb quality leather without the elastic insert that many wide fit boots have. You just measure your calf and order that size.
I love my Ralph Lauren two-toned (black with cognac brown top band) leather riding boots. They are comfortable, reasonably priced, and look great with slim casual trousers tucked in for the Duchess’s country look, which I love. Most neutrals work really well with them, too. My skinny jeans will get some wear with them again this autumn and winter, it’s the only way I still wear them, I prefer the modern, looser styles now.
I am so extremely happy because today i finally managed to find a pair of riding boots that fit my very wide calves. Not only they look elegant and classy, but they also manage to slim and elongate my legs, giving me the look of a slightly slouchy boots. I can't wait to style them in so many ways, as it is litterally years that i struggle to find them. To have a wide calf really is a very big issue, because if you want a good leather pair you have to look for custom made boots (extremely expensive, and not even so good looking) Now that the hunt is finally over, i know that i will sound silly and superficial but, believe me i feel almost on the verge of tears (but joyful ones 😁)
I love my riding boots with ultra, slim fit, pencil trousers - but now I have a serious crush on those Sam Edelman black suedes with the flared heel & square toe! Nice job on presenting your inspirations - I would have never been able to narrow down from all the selections. Thanks for helping me focus!
I have the basic 4 pair of boots. A black & brown knee hi boot & a black & tan suede ankle boot. Woll be getting another pair of boots in a bit so this video was on point. ❤❤ THANKS!
I love over the knee boots! I also love riding boots. I have a pair of black leather riding boots from a store that I can’t remember but they are from Portugal and they’re just so simple and they look good with everything and it was probably one of the best purchases of my life.
Gemma, I love your videos they are so inspiring, helpful and informative. Since I have joined your channel I have found lots of ways to style the clothes already in my wardrobe to look more polished but still feel comfortable. I have also been able to easily identify key pieces which would be useful to have in my wardrobe. Thanks so much xx
Excellent video! Made me excited for fall. I love the boot with midi dress/skirt looks. And the more casual looks, such as your mention of Kate’s casual looks but somehow she looks completely pulled together.
I love boots. I probably have too many pairs, so I really don’t need to buy any this year. But I have been on the look out for a mid heel black ankle boot with a longer shaft. I think the longer shaft ankle boots look good with ankle pants or jeans. And I like the look of matching pants to boots to make the legs look longer. If you are tall or have proportionally very long legs, you can get away with highly contrasting colors for boots and whatever you are wearing on the bottom.
I absolute love your videos keep going... can’t believe you almost gave up on doing them. I own a new pair of uncle boots bought on Office but the heel is to thin for me I am sure I wont be able to walk on it. Such a shame😭.
I live in my ankle walking boots as well as my knee high boots. I live in boots from November to March. I love how they can be dressed up and down. I now go for a lower heel.
I love a great riding boot I am a black and British tan pair. I do love high heeled knee boots.I have a gray suede pair ,and I’m on the hunt for a black pair that are comfortable .I have several pairs of low boots suede and leather .I love fall 🍁
Hi Gemma, my faves are chelsea boots, and plain, black riding boots. I do have some navy suede boots too. I'm not a fan of heeled boots. Saw some lovely, varied ideas on here. Hope you're ok, it's cold up north today 😁😁 xx
Love the video. I, too, am not a fan of wearing ankle boots with skirts or dresses as I am 5'2 . However, for Autumn and Winter I invested in a "Chelsea" boot to go with with jeans and trousers. It was the best investment three years ago as I live in Northern Arizona where we have mild winters.
I own various ankle booties & boots in a variety of colors (some faux leather & some real genuine leather) however I absolutely adore & l💓ve 😍 a knee high boot!!!! Especially one with a block heel. I want more of them but haven't purchased more recently. My favorite knee-high boot I own at this time is a black soft suede Calvin Klein knee high boot with a heel that has gold piping in the heel! Its an absolute "show stopper". The black suede with gold accents really compliment each other. My favorite ankle boot a soft suede luxury chocolate brown bootie by Chloé.😁 ...happy I ditched the buttercream hood timberlands for some real lady like boots!!! Video @6:35 👍🏽👍🏾👍🏿
I’d love for you to do an autumn video featuring capes, ponchos, shawls/wraps and similar top layers, I seem to be in the mood for them this year. I’m currently looking for one with leather toggles in cream or camel. I know I will love all the classics you choose!
I am not tall either but I wear boots in the same colour of my trousers for longer length and the illusion of height. Even get my old dressage boots out for use.
Some nice fall ideas for boots, like boots a lot, I have a narrow foot and shoes are hard to find. I like to put sock underneath no one is the wiser. I like the idea of a skirt with boots and dark stocking.
Love the tan/camel ankle boots and knee high boots! Beautiful shades for fall season! I recently thrifted a pair of Sezane suede dark camel ankle lace-up boots and can’t wait to wearing them!
I live in Fort Lauderdale so the knee boots are not an option really for me but I adore the look nonetheless. The pic towards the end of the video of the burgundy silk skirt & black long sleeve blouse & belt is so beautiful. I’m not a skirt girl but I am going to look for something burgundy for the fall. Such inspiration! Thanks Gemma!
Great ideas but my favourite boots are knee high and riding boots .I ve held off because once I start with boots that's it I live in them I have ankle I calf slouchy you name it I Love boots and the black tights with black ankle boots and skirt looks great .must get mine out of storage!! Thanks Gemma x
Thank you! This video is so helpful. I love boots but have a hard time styling them in multiple ways. If you could only own 3 pair, what color, height and style would you choose?
Hello Gemma, thank you so much for this wonderful video. Oh Jesus, boots ... for me, girls best friends. I can´t choose one style. I love boots, I always can use one style or other. See you next video!
I wish I lived somewhere where boots could be a fashion item rather than a necessity!! They need to be warm, have non-slip soles, waterproof........I really put off wearing boots until the last minute!
Fiona Frazer I agree and I got a pair of Timberland Chelsea boots this summer on sale to wear in the winter. They have a thick sole so I think they will be good and the style is timeless. I actually already started wearing my boots just because when they put the gravel on the sidewalks for non slippery surface I can no longer wear some of my boots especially the ones that have thinner sole or that have a stiletto heel because they will be ruined fast in that gravel. Here you need all types of boots: rain boots, warm winter boots, dressing up boots, knee high boots, ankle boots and most of the time boots that have a good sole and are durable.
Hi, good afternoon! Would you be so kind to tell me what kind of style boot I can wear if my height is 1.57m (México) and also I am a plus size and work in an office and I want to look elegant Thank you 😊💓 so much I would really appreciate your answer And I love your videos 🙂
Hi my dear, you didn't mention the combat boots style. Do you think it's just fashion and they don't work for a lady in her forties? I'm asking because I'm falling in love for Chelsea Doctor Martens and I don't know if it's a mistake to buy them at my age? Thank you for your interesting tips😊
You know lately I have been bored with just plain boots with nothing to them, so bought some with 3 buckles and foot showing a bit. I don’t have them yet but looking forward to them coming, but kind of feeling adventurous since I am usually plain and classic. Just want to mix it up a bit
love your natural nails , had acrylics but stopped having them done during lockdown. Been trying to get them back to being strong and healthy.. Acrylics are not classy although I always had a French manicure. Natural is so much nicer .... Ladies try MAVALA scientific and NAILACTAN every night the best ever !!!!!!
I LOVE how u dress, question, how would u define your skin color? Olive, beige? I think i have the same shade... and I always struggle with the color palette... Thanks:)
I love all styles of boots but I am really not that interested in shoes. I really liked how you showed how to style different kinds of boots. Thank goodness I live where I can wear boots now until at least April.
If you are young with nice thin legs and ankles it looks good, but then anything would - As we age we have to adjust our expectations, and sometimes a style, even if it is current, can make us look a bit silly - Everyone has to know their own style and adjust it every so many years.
I’ve been looking for two plus years for a tall heeled boot with a straight line from heel up past the ankle. Everything seems to curve in above the heel before the shaft starts. I don’t know what they’re called if anyone knows please help. I think they were more popular in the 80’s and I think they were called Cossack or Russian style but searching those doesn’t give me ant results. TIA!!!
I have very slim calf and I am tall. So its almost impossible for me to find a high boot that fits nicely and its no more than 2 inches. Of course I am not paying over 600 for boots and they exist in that range :((
