Bonjour lovelies, don't forget to share your tricks to look taller and slimmer in the comments section, I will love to try them! thanks love xxx Frederique
It was so helpful that you modeled the “dos and don’ts” side-by-side. It’s amazing how the same outfits can be transformed with just a few changes, such as flats to heels, belt colors, etc. Thank you for these great tips Frédérique.
Yes, this does really help a lot! 👍 Thank you for making the effort - I mean, you have to show two different options for every outfit, that needs time ... 🙂
Matte black has the additional charm of being perfection for when you are a "background personage" at an event where you supervise or do compliance or judge and you need to blend into the scenery. It really does allow one to move about somewhat unnoticed and discreetly. I love the grey, black & white long coat. Great to show us the way the Do & Don't actually look.
Bonjour Frederique! The comparisons side by side visually show the difference! I like monochrome outfits and I also like wearing all black or dark colors. I've been told that pointed shoes whether flats or heels will make your legs look longer and help you look taller. Yes, please continue this series. Love love love you! 🥰 XOXO
One of my favorite monochrome looks for autumn/winter is wearing burgundy head-to-toe. I wear a fitted burgundy sweater, straight-leg trousers with a tiny check of deep-rose and burgundy threads, and pointed burgundy ankle boots with a small heel. I top everything with a matching long coat. I feel amazing in this outfit! For spring, I have a similar mid-blue outfit (short sleeve, v-neck sweater and sailor pants that graze the floor) that I wear with open-toe heeled sandals. I find that wearing high rise waists and extending the hem as far as I can, to my toes, helps me look taller.
Great idea! The trend for wide-leg, cropped trousers is IMHO supremely unflattering for most women. Full length pants can be harder to find these days.
@@maryokeefe5351 Ay, ay, ay! I can't wear those pants! They are hard to look good in for most people, and I'm short AND overweight, so they look particularly unflattering on me!
Thankyou Frèdèrique 💞 This video. I wear my shoulder length hair up, to elongate myself and also a v neck t-shirt or blouse. I try to remember my posture and stand ,sit and walk tall 😊 Also I use scarves to bring the eye, up to the top part of my body. They are my tips. Love yours !
Loved the first outfit of black skinnies and beautiful black blouse! Have you ever thought about doing a video of comparing outfits that look modern and youthful against frumpy and old?! Its a real problem in middle age for me, I'd love to see your ideas for this! Xxxxxc
@janine bate I totally agree. I’m 47 but feel like I’m 40 & have been asking lately how do you dress your age or appropriately and still look good/chic without dressing like a frumpy older person. I just came back from Milan, Italy and even the grannies look trendy and chic.
Wonderful tips, Frederique. Thank you! The monochromatic or "all dark colors" look works beautifully to make me look taller and slimmer, including shoes, belt, and bag. I avoid most horizontal stripes and large prints, except for mariner tops. Always looking for visually vertical looks, even a longer necklace versus a shorter/choker style. Also avoiding the baggy pants look and the "cropped" baggy pants look that's being shown as a trend this year.
Frederique as always you are my favorite! The only youtuber I've ever met who acknowledges that not everyone wears black! I wore head-to toe black from when I was 15 to about 8-9 years ago (when I was 29 obviously) when I discovered a program that helped me find my "energy profile." It was really life changing. I gave all my black clothes to my mom, the energy type "allowed" to wear black (I kept only what I needed for funerals and chorus) and the stuff of my sister's energy to her, and donated the clothes of the other energy type that none of us have. So I wear navy instead of black, even navy boots, and I feel great. Fortunately I am already tall but when I wear head-to-toe navy or even with a white blouse and blazer, I can still command a room (even at my advanced age of - ahem - ). That monochrome look is fantastic and thank you for not insisting that we all MUST wear black the way every other fashionista does. (I did have this fantastic "little black dress" which I'm sorry I didn't copy in navy before I gave it away . . . )
Coucou chere Frédérique 🥰, to look taller and slimmer we wear black & high heels, but also long dresses and cardigans, as you already mentioned. And we are smiling to the others and to ourselves! You are wonderful! Thank you!😍🤗
Greetings from southcentral Texas USA 🇺🇸 , North America; Ms. Lovely 😊 Frederique, thank you; Greetings from southcentral Texas USA 🇺🇸, again, Ms. Lovely 😊 Frederique, thank you
Interesting video. I agree with you about wearing black pants and a black top. Black pants and a top with a nice jacket and a lovely scarf is very elegant and makes women look much slimmer.😊
I almost always match my belt to my dress, skirt or trousers. I’m a rectangle and I want to define my waist, but not emphasize that it’s not all that slim, which a contrasting belt would do.
who comes here sometimes just to hear that ‘clique clique clique!!’ and her amazing laugh.. makes me smile and positive instantly. Frédérique you are fab!! your positivity is infectious.. 👏🥰
Hi Frederique! Great tips… being an “apple” shape monochromatic works really well. Also, a long scarf helps hid a tummy. The last look with the sweater coat was fabulous. Hugs to Oscar. Best to you always. lol xxx
Boricuas in the house! I love color, too, and just left a comment saying that one of my favorite monochromatic outfits is burgundy head to toe, including pointed heeled boots (I'm currently living in a cold-winter area, hence the boots). I also look good in a column of most jewel tones (sapphire, emerald, ruby, amethyst) in which case I wear skin-colored shoes. I do have a core of neutral pieces...but the capsules that are all black, gray, and beige are not for me!
Shoes and sandals with ankle straps make short legs look so much shorter. A mystery why they ever became so popular! Fun video, thank you Frederique xxx
Nice reminders Frederique’ …. Thank you so much!!! For me to look Taller/Slimmer…. Stand Tall! No Slouching!!! I’m 5’6’… I immediately feel taller….(especially if I’m wearing monochrome color outfit)…
At 5ft 10” it’s still not easy to find the right length trousers (34” inside leg) the shorter lengths make us look like we have grown out of them and proportions are so wrong. High rise, extra long flares are my favourite but hard to find. (I make some of mine) Great video. Sue UK xx
Posture is an important element in looking taller. Standing tall, shoulders back, and looking up will make you look taller. Would wearing your hair up make you look taller? Then for clothing tips, and I know you are not a skirt girl, but today I’m wearing a black maxi skirt, black crew neck sweater and black Chelsea boot with a grey and burgundy scarf around my neck. Despite being 5’3, I think I look taller, or a least a little bit taller. 😁. Love your videos!
These advices are absolutely amazing, especially that I have more less same shape and I am 163 cm so not to tal. Many times I feel completely not attractive and I have big problems how to dresses. I want to thank you because you are showing me completely different directions for my fashion choices. I already have a lot in my wardrobe but I didn't know how to mix things together. A big, big thank you to you🤗💖
As a 5’4” woman who always gets told that I look taller, I would also add: match the colour of your shoes to the jeans/trousers/skirt you wear (especially if you’re wearing a top that’s a different colour to the bottoms). If those shoes are a little pointy, that’s even better! Beige shoes also work, especially if you’re showing some skin (for example if you’re wearing jeans that are not full length or short/midi skirts).
Love your video. I'm 5'3 and to make me look taller I love wearing monochrome outfit and high rise / waisted pants and skirts. I also wear dresses that is waisted or i put a belt. The dress length is mid length for formal and casual is knee length. Thanks, Dominique for always coming out with great topics ! Appreciate the effort you put into your work.
Suggestion: how about (if you haven't posted already) a video of if you have to wear the same dress to different events, how to change it up a bit!? Merci.
Maybe I need to show my daughter this video! She is verging on six foot.. and is constantly hunched over, trying to look shorter, and more insignificant. I tell her that she needs own her height! She has a lovely, athletic physique and pleasant, muted colouring,as well.....I hope that she will learn to enjoy her height and own her personal style, instead of trying to shrink herself! Thank you for sharing your tips, Frederique!
Putting things together visually is a great help for us women who may not be so confident with styling. Way to go Frederique! Heels are always good, same colours, black...you pretty much covered it!😊❣️🙌👏🌷
Nude heels! Great for when you do not have shoes that match your trousers/ skirts. Bonus points for pointed toe (if your feet can handle it) to elongate even more.
Bonjour.
True-when you wear the same color you are not cut in two so you will extend & slim your look - all solid colors in dark colors will work (dark green. Dark aquas, etc.) Thanks for all the great tips. 💕😊👍
Firstly I just discovered your channel so thank you.. loved the tips and tricks as a 5ft 2inch (158cm) person it’s always a challenge. For me in dresses not wearing long dresses but more above the knee makes a big difference in looking taller and of course yes the style of jeans/pants wearing slim tapered pants versus wider leg also helps to make shorter women look taller and slimmer. (Makes legs look less stumpy). Does the length of your pants make a difference? Ie the fashion recently was 3/4 length pants/jeans so you have exposed ankles so your boots show in winter. I would have thought for a shorter person this would make you look shorter unless you’re using your advice to have same colour head to toe including same colour rd boots or shoes? Would love a video on how to mix and match a few outfits for a weekend away or a 5 day trip… I always struggle to pack light on short getaways especially during April/May spring season in Europe. (Sorry if you’ve already done a video on this, I’ve only just discovered your videos). I’m an Aussie living in France. Merci infiniment!
Great suggestions! You vertically challenged gals do need heals when wearing a long sweater though I am totally impressed with the mono colors underneath creating length. The gap between the sweater and the floor needs to be visible.
Because I'm heavy... And vertically challenged. I'm 5'2". I like to wear v-neck shirts. I wear dresses instead of separates. If I'm wearing a colorful dress I wear nude heels. I have 2 pairs of pointed toe slingback heels. One in nude and the other in black. I also like 3/4 sleeves.
Like your wide black belt with your black jeans. The black/white long cardigan with your V neck blouse is so classy, I wish I had a similar one. Thank you for your wonderfulness.
You are right all one colour makes you look 👀 taller I do that a lot cos I’m only 5 foot tall so I know about trying to make me look 👀 taller thank you for thinking of us short ladies god bless.
Frederique, I just discovered you! I loved this video and I love your beautiful French accent. I'm short, especially compared to my daughters, so for pictures, they take any high heels off, and I stand on my tip-toes. : )
I love white gold jewellery like you. But yellow gold is very popular at the moment. Where do you get your beautiful jewellery from? Could you do a video please on the best places to shop white gold jewellery? ❤
Hi Frederique😊gosh thanks for the lovely tips, i really need the "to look thinner" once while i'm worinking on losing weight😰 i want to look like you! My favourite is the cardigan with the black outfit. I love a coat or cardigan or anything like that-lov lov lov it! Keep those tips coming Girl👏👏💝💟
I am a skirt girl and I always wear same color tights ( black skirt+black tights, blue skirt+ blue tights) and same color shoes. It works miracles. You can't say I'm just 4.9 feet tall.
love your tips in this video. i am trying to find an appropriate belt and ways to wear them. i have a bit of a tummy so i try to steer clear of belts so as to "hide" my poofiness. i am otherwise an hourglass shape. ps i love your amazon shop! just bought a bathing suit yesterday and can't wait to receive it and try it on. thank you for curating such great stuff.
@@ms.frederique omg. the bathing suit...perfection! fits so well and the quality is of one at least twice what i paid...closer to three times. love it. i will be shopping your amazon store frequently!
To look a little better I wear either a vee neck or a button up short with a few buttons open. Totally agree with the monochromatic look. Same color or shade bottom and top. I'm 4'11". Luckily I can wear heels.
Lovely video like always, dear Frederique. I'm petite so I tried all the tricks before, except the last one and that one I would love to try. Btw you look wonderful. Thank you for the tips.
I love that last outfit! You look so much taller! I am also 5'2" and I like to wear little bit longer pants with high heels. Nothing new, but it does work. Also, for summer a little platform sandal looks good too! 😘😘💕
Another thing I love about high rise pants is they don't cause muffin tops, that even slim girls deal with when wearing a lower rise. Great advice, Frederique. And, you look like you've lost weight. Is it a fact or an illusion? :)
I am petite so watching my diet is a must ( a healthy weight for my height) and I love pointy toe shoes. Also my secrete tip a smile, it makes people look at my face not my length lol.
Hi there!! Great tips... I tend more towards navy blue! I really like the ideas of wearing monochrome underneath a cardigan or a coat. I was doing exactly as you were showing on the cross sign. Yup! Can you give some ideas for making a shorter torso look longer? That would be really helpful. Take care my dear Frederique! Hugs!
Wonderful tips as always from Frédérique. To elongate short torsos, wear v-necks and scoop neck tops. Stay away from cropped tops & jackets. Do as Frédérique says, wear a long jacket or cardigan to elongate your torso
Hi Frédérique! I love all your tips and tricks in your videos!! I was wondering what kind of self tanner you use because you always look wonderful and it looks natural! Thank you🇺🇸
You showed the first outfits with the one on the left with light colour blue jeans and a black sweater with an X as something not to wear. The outft on the right (all black) had a check mark as what is better to wear. However, I agree that the light colour jeans are not flattering. But if you wore very dark blue jeans with the black top, it would look good. In other words, I don't think you necessarily hsve to have both top and pants all black. If the jeans are dark bkue with a black top, that would still look good and be slimming.
Where is your favourite tip about a v-neck t-shirt? 😀 Any tips you have for looking taller while wearing flat or low shoes would be much appreciated; my knees hurt (I have pronated knees) when I wear high heels.
The second outfit with the baggy black pants I would use heeled mid calf boot with pant in a Capri length coming over the top of the boot . I am short and this works for me.
