"A lot can go wrong when you’re setting up a Mixing Room. The wrong speaker placement or listening position can throw off your frequency response and cause your mixes to suffer. Here’s a few things you should avoid doing when setting up your mixing room.
Avoid sitting next to back and side walls. The back wall especially will have a lot of energy bouncing off of it and standing waves can build up next to surfaces that will throw off your frequency response.
Don’t place your speakers in cabinets or mount them in the wall unless they were specifically designed for it. Doing so can drastically change the response curve.
Avoid placing your sub in the corner of the room. While this produces the more output it also creates the least even frequency response.
Don’t use a screen so large that it forces you to compromise your speaker placement or listening position. Always prioritise the seating and speakers first, then see what size screen fits in your setup.
Don’t use your main speakers at full range. There’s a reason why people use subwoofers. The bass produced between your speakers is almost never in the right location in the room for smooth bass reproduction. Cross your speakers at about 80hz so that you can place your main speakers as needed and move your sub around to find the best bass response. Don’t use your main speakers at full range.
Just quick recap, Avoid sitting next to back and side walls. Don’t place your speakers in cabinets or mount them in the wall unless they were specifically designed for it. Avoid placing your sub in the corner of the room.
Don’t use a screen so large that it forces you to compromise your speaker placement or listening position. "

Thank you for your videos! Nevertheless I need your help. I have high ceiling, around 3.2 meters. Should I lower it for my home studio?

No, lower ceilings cause more issues. You can place clouds above your listening position but make sure that the space between the panels and the ceiling isn’t larger than the panels thickness. For example if the panels are say 10-11cm thick, the maximum gap between the panel and the ceiling should be at most 10-11cm. A 1:1 ratio essentially. If the gap is bigger than the thickness of the panel, you’ll lose the effectiveness of some frequencies.

You're welcome! While Sole is looking to give you some information about treating ceilings with acoustic panels, there are certainly more issues to look out for - things like slap echo, comb filtering, and even bass build up that arise from especially low ceilings, so while there is somewhat of a benefit to having a higher ceiling, there are other things to look out for. I would say straight away we need more information to give us the complete view of your situation and what you are trying to accomplish with your home studio, since every single studio has different challenges. www.gikacoustics.com/acoustic-advice/
