I have a 2 year old Martin OMC-28 that sounds dead…like it’s stuffed with Kleenex. Also, the seam on the front of the lower bout is separating at the book match seam. I store it in its case at the proper humidity too. Very disappointed! My 000-18 and D-41 are perfect. My 00-28VS action is up to almost 1/4” on 12th fret after just 4 years-using same Martin strings it arrived with. I’m very unhappy with the folks in Nazareth. Tried calling in 2020 and early 2021-couldn’t get through. I’ve learned to live with it.

@@Gr8Layksobviously you’ve changed the strings on that one right? Have you ever thought about bringing it to a luthier or guitar shop and telling them what’s going on?

@@davidfrank2824 well HMS dreadnought kinda coined the name. So is it really so wrong? Either way that ship did a lot name to connotation wise.

Sorry, Taylor makes a vary nice guitar but definitely not an OG. As she stated, Martin’s been around since 1833 and basically revolutionized how guitars are made. Taylor’s only been around since 1974. Martin is definitely an OG, Taylor is just a high end guitar brand that makes vary nice high end guitars.

I believe the dreadnought shape as we know it today was first created by ditson, one of the Chicago companies. The lakesides were a little bit rounder.

I believe that I read that Martin made guitars for Ditson.

HPL on X series Martins is harder to crack than solid wood. Even the stratabond laminated neck is stronger, and resistant to warping! Makes for a great camping guitar 👍, But not for resonance or recording with a mic👎

@@roenvalenzuela2492 I definitely disagree every used hpl Martin I see for sale is cracked somewhere they don’t use it because it’s better they use it because it’s cheaper and plays very similar but even the sound isn’t as good as let’s say a ibanez aew400 that also better built less money better sound and finish and qc is the same if not better than Martin all these companies are selling out over priced garbage at least 85% of the big name brands honestly that’s why I only buy ibanez anymore but even they in terms of originality and new line ups have gone stagnant only Jackson from what I’ve seen is releasing new guitars every year but everything below the soloist is junk you might find one good one out of every 20 guitars you play

@DanTheSoundMan bro a real handmade Alveraz plays better then my Taylor .. I have a 1980 alveraz well my dad does it’s one of a kind reminds me of an old hummingbird and a Taylor audition morphed old 1985 alverazes was amazing u til they sold out to Japan
