If you want one, great.. It's an old design; the older versions had reliability problems, so be sure to get the Henry version... The AR7 probably does not sell well due to the extremely low capacity magazines; and is too complex for some to assemble (think about those that can't assemble simple furniture ). If your gun store sells these, this is probably ALWAYS in stock. It floats, but is not necessarily waterproof, and .22LR ammo often is not waterproof either.. oops... On the plus side, it's good for the price.. A Marlin Papoose is better though at about the same price.. The Ruger 10/22 takedown is also better, but pricier. AR7's are like any other product out there; some love the design; others don't like anything about it.. Some will sing its praises; others will not.. I'm in the will not category, simply because there are far better takedowns out there; despite the other designs not being able to float. Floating is a one trick pony if you ask me. At one time, I was seriously considering purchasing an AR 7, but changed my mind when I handled it and felt the construction..
