A 5 day, 64km Solo survival test exploring remote wilderness [Part 2]
This is a 2 part survival camping series.
Watch Part 1: • 5-Day Solo Remote Wild...
I travel by foot and packraft in a raw and rarely seen part of Newfoundland's breathtaking outdoors - the remote 1,070km2 Avalon Wilderness Reserve. I carry limited food and equipment with the goal to test my wilderness skills and explore as much new ground as possible over the 5 days. I must fish, forage, be resourceful and use strength, and endurance to succeed.
There's beauty, simple living, hardship & great joys.
It's a classic adventure in spectacular nature that I am excited to share!
Come along and live the journey.
Take care and thanks for watching - Justin

Justin, I had my doubts about ordering an Alpaka pack raft, but not after watching you beat the crap out of it without a failure. Its either tougher than its weight would suggest or you are one lucky dude. I’ve watched you drag plastic canoes over torture test, but man, you did the same thing to that pack raft. Keep on making the movies, and exploring. I love your work.

Just getting caught up and to the point of where you dumped the blow up raft on the 68 day trip 2019, and couldn't find Saku. Had a similar experience but mine was calm water and my dog went after a goose playing wounded as its nest was on the bank. I paddled as hard as I could and she would not stop chasing. As I caught up, she was exhausted and the last three paddle strokes she disappeared in over 20 feet of water. Dove in and was lucky to feel her paw and able to get her back into the boat. That was 15 years ago and she lived to be 18 years old. Now I have two dogs, and they do not go around water without their own life jackets, I had to pause and pray for you both before I watched you make it to shore. Very happy that you both were safe, a very scary moment I'm sure you will never forget, nor will I. Stay safe and God bless.

Appreciate you watching and the comment Vandall - sounds like you have had some real experiences in nature too- it's all apart of it. Rarely in the wild does an animal die of old age- they live hard and free and die at the mercy of the wilderness from accidents or getting killed by other animals. This is a healthier way of life for any animal (human and dog included). There's a reason mental health issues are so common in towns and cities. All the best!

@@JustinBarbournlexplorer Thanks for the reply, and yes, for most of my life nature has been my therapy and my connection to the creator. My backyard of 11 million acres of wilderness is dwarfed by yours, but nature all the same. I am nearing the end of my life's journey, yet I find myself outdoors more and more now, I do enjoy watching your adventures as it brings back many memories when times were simpler, and aches and pains were a forethought. Please enjoy it as long as you can, for me getting up in the years I have no regrets, and far better to be addicted to nature than drugs and the ills of the world. Thank you for all you do, and never stop (not that I think you ever will) as I hope for you and yours continued joy in the wilds, and pray I am around long enough to see you and perhaps a son or daughter taking some of these trips to pass on your drive for such to future generations and keep the desire of the outdoors fishing, hunting, boating, and all alive and well for generations.

More spectacular views of this wildness landscape Love This!. so peaceful. even without the sun and terrible weather. The music you use fits perfect through out. That was quite the hike out to the vehicle and wasn't that Moose huge that you met up with and a health boy at that. Well done Justine will be nice to see your next video . Thank's ... Ontario.

For a moment there in that one segment I thought you were trying to catch a beaver or something....and then out of the brush comes your line with that huge sweet-looking Brookie on it. Looks like you been switching up on bait too. You got a good feel for the fish......and that makes us both hungry for more. Saku doesn't know what he's missing.....and that's a good thing. Unless Bear's figured out how to use the drone and then all bets are off. WOOF! WOOF!
