5 Days Ago This Was A Rusty Old S10 Xtreme... NOW It's Almost TOGETHER

The engine is in my FREE 2000 Chevy S-10 Xtreme. Only 5 days ago this truck was a beat up old cab on a dirty frame. Now everything has been sandblasted/cleaned/painted, and the engine and transmission are back in. Incredibly it even looks like the driveshaft is going to fit. Today we knocked out tons of work and somehow the new engine dropped in on the first try!

@@br549rdr valve covers for sure. I'd love to see this done period correct, purple scallops into black body, silver outline to the scallops. Real mini truck circa 2000.

@@bgee461 I don't remember many scallop mini trucks in the early 2000s. I seen a lot of s10s with the dark blue they came in or an extremely custom paint with lots going on, bagged, shaved, tweed interior, roll pan rear bumper, sideways plate in the tailgate, aftermarket front bumper and grill, and if extended cab the backseat full of subs and amps.

I used 4 jack stands, two 4x4's, 2t jack, and a engine hoist to swap a frame on my '69 Chevelle by myself 40 yrs ago. Had to take rear tires off to sneak the frame under the body. Keep up the good work.

Looking good. You may also want to consider replacing the 2 knock sensors on the top of the engine before it goes back together. Water tends to get into the sensor wells and causes the sensors to corrode and fail over time. Common problem on these engines. Replace the sensors with factory OEM as well as the wiring harness and seal the rubber plugs with high temp RTV sealant to keep moisture out. Cheers!

if you get vibration from the driveshaft, ditch it for a 1 piece unit. I had a ZQ8 Sonoma and could never get it to act right after replacing the carrier barring. Rebuilt the double U joints so many times I could get it done in less than an hour.

The truck frame seems to have a few holes on the side (next to the 4 holes in a grid) similar to SuperFast Matt's "random" dash and dot pattern for his dry sump :D

Lol you have two passenger side valve covers lol. Oil can fill from the front on the passenger side and fill on the rear driverside lol.

A LOT of money going into that LS swap set-up, These are fun little trucks tho so you'll definitely have a blast in it once you're done with it tho... I believe these trucks should have came Factory with a V8 in them. Bc I mean the 2.2L 4 Cylinder is a Absolute Joke of an Engine, The 4.3L is better as long as it's a 5 Speed, if it's an Automatic then imo it's a joke too bc they just suck as an Automatic, Now on the older Square Body Trucks and Blazers the 2.5L Engine you can't break them, but they have no power and the 2.8L ain't much better, I just pulled a Well Documented 44,000 Original Mile 2.8L Engine & Automatic Transmission out of my 1984, 4X4, 2DR, S10 Blazer bc I found a 1993, 4X4, Extended Cab S10 Truck with a 4.3L/5 Speed in it that I'm in the process of Swapping over to my 1984 Blazer... I can't wait until it's done either...

I dunno bud. I just can't get into the silver paint on the engine. Just seems high-school ish. I wish you would have picked some outlandish color highlights for it. Maybe paint the accessories purple like the transmission. Just looks BLAH. But all of this is just personal opinion. What's important is what you like. Obviously you like it bland.

I may have missed something but is that LS engine completely stock or did JR do mods inside it? I saw the elusion to nitrous last episode but didn’t see him do any mods???
