Join me on a wild adventure as I get caught in a blizzard on a remote island during a wildlife photography expedition. Watch as I capture stunning images of animals in their natural habitats in the midst of a snowstorm.
I spend five days in Svalbard, photographing and filming wildlife and birds. And I was happy to photograph reindeer, ptarmigan and arctic fox. This is a fantastic place to do bird photography and wildlife photography.
So thogether with my nikon Z9 and the 600mm f4 TC lense, all was ready for a arctic expedition in harsh weather.

First, let me thank you for sharing this experience with us, Trond. I have owned a Z8 for about a month now and have several thousand shots of birds. I just wondered how many Z8 batteries you carried when you went out for a day of shooting? Where did you carry the extra batteries? Was that fox wearing a collar? And finally, I loved the ptarmigan pictures with the little black bills and the spot of black around the eyes and everything else in the picture was white. Looking forward to next week's installment. Not much chance of heat haze distorting your long lens images there! Great video as always. Lovely light when the foxes came out to play. Love the fox images in particular.

Amazing images Trond! What time of year was this? Do you have any issues with batteries in the cold?

Et tips til deg. Jeg bruker for det meste kamuflasjeklær når jeg fotograferer fugler. Da særlig fra trostestore fugler og oppover. Små fugler kommer jeg nærmest ved å bruke knall gule klær, og bevege meg sakte. Blåstrupen får jeg på 2,5-3m avstand. Til og med gjøken lot seg lure. Den fikk jeg på 6 meter!
