i found it the most interesting that the evolution from masters -> gm that you displayed in this video showcased how the gm player was far more conservative than the masters player; i wonder if this indicates that the ladder climb conditions you to play as safe as possible because of a lack of trust in supports, and how this leads to a more passive playstyle focused on minimizing mistakes rather than maximizing aggression (and how it's really obvious when you watch stalk3r that in order to go beyond this level you have to limit test far more) this was a really good video! im def subbing 😁
@@vbeeraba2789 oh for sure; i'd imagine that in these kinds of lobbies if you don't engage from the flank at exactly the same time as your tank walks up main you're either dying or wasting all your cds trying to live and contributing nothing to the fight
It's not a lack of trust, it's just to not die. Dying is the worst thing you can do in Overwatch, so minimizing mistakes is basically how you should play. -GM tracer
I can relate to the master tracer. I don't plan my recalls. It's also hard to understand how much to trust my healers. Going from master to gm seems like a big hurdle.
take some dmg in neutrals and see how long it takes for you to get healed. It will give a good sense what kind of style of support you have. If you do it any other time, your tank might be feeding especially in lower ranks and require too much attention from your support. Good for macro awareness in ranked imo.
I've been otp tracer this season because I really want to be good at this hero. Last few days I felt my main weakness was blink management but didn't know how to fix it. After watching this I went into comp just thinking about always having cover one blink (or recall) away and that was an instant improvement, I was able to stay longer in fights, be more aggro with my engagements and overall just get more done. Great video thx (I'm currently Plat 3)
Good info, subbed. But GM tracer conservative playstyle may be coz of bad habits ( kinda suvival habits) picked up from climbing in solo queues. Because you cannot rely on teammates + no comms etc. However, adaptability is my key take away when pro tracer can adapt - to play passive, aggressive, composition, win condition and mechanics = aka infomed decision making. to burst the dmg at shortest amount of time n get away without tunneling. having the macros in mind that fight can be won if we last longer. Would like to see more on tracer interactions , composition play style because variety of composition while climbing from plat to master, sometime u can only do so much and macros get complicated as well. Feels like a university to graduate haha. Thanks for the video , good quality content.
This was amazing, as a masters Genji but diamond Tracer it was really nice to see the micro and macro ways I can probably improve based on this video. Really helps you appreciate just how good the best pros are.
I think the fact that pro players are capable of playing multiple heroes at the top level is the biggest factor on why they think very differently from the average high ranked players
I main tracer and play like a mix of plat and masters (i have qualities from each) Id say im pretty decent at her and have good game sense but cant get out of late gold/early plat.
Why is a Plat player coaching pros? This is not meant to be an insult. I think it's amazing that you coached pros. I'm curious as to what the disconnect is that is limiting your progression. Perhaps I suffer from the same and should finally accept my level and adjust my expectations/dreams. Thank you
FWIW - there are sports coaches who led their teams to multiple major championships who were either journeymen players or who didn't even play it professionally. You can know what the correct play is without being able to actually do it yourself :)
Very strange for a Gold Tracer to be bad with Blink management🤔. At least mechanics are down😅 3:30 you are correct. You gotta learn blink distance and all blink combos!
however master play was thinking about macro, uts obvious. his team is so close, he needed to stall car for a few seconds, so his team has time to join. he just got caught off guard by big burst, which he should have predicted tbh
Hello Wizard! Is there any chance that you will participate in OWCS? You are one of the best coaches and we know that you are the reason Atlanta got so far. I would be really happy to see you coach a good team.
well u are a little wrong about the heals part, tracer is usually the one who has to force point, which means she will be the one getting shot, on route 66 she was pushing payload to allow her tank and rest of team to set up on the highground as he can just push payload for free and then join the fight quickly when his team decides to engage on gas station. edit: Stalker is a little weird to compare to as he is infamous for his very agressive playstyle in comparison to any other tracer pro (not that its bad, just very very different)
Great video. Obviously as a high level coach you do have the macro concepts and things like that in your head. Do you think its a case of not being able to translate and execute in game during the heat of the moment? Obviously you pointed out personal mechanical weaknesses but do you think that's the main thing preventing you from progressing much further?
@@wizardhyeong That's awesome! I guess you will also indirectly address how coaches can coach at the top level without necessarily being able to play at a top level. Looking forward to it!
3 swipes for a 180??? What are you on? 1 dpi😂😂 my general rule for all 3rd person games is 1 swipe=180 degrees. And i thought that was low. I do use a larger mousepad though
i want to add in for the last part on tracer 4 to tracer 5 it is false. playing in a team you want to minimise taking damage as much as possible as a tracer. I'm playing in a GM university team and taking damage is the worst thing you could do yo pressure your support. ideally you want to play in a different angle as your team and peal for the team. the difference between the champion and GM player is the difference in distance they play with the support not tanking. champion player has more map awareness and the positioning of their teammate to refill their health quicker than a gm player. the less dmg a tracer take and more dmg output they have the more annoying the enemy have to deal with. hell i cant even comprehend how every ability counts in GM.
