I got a tip for beginners, because I too am a beginner and just recently ran into this (which I think might be rather common): if using a rimlock and going to set the bead, the tire might look mis-aligned radially. What I found was that, although the bead set, it set on the top of my rimlock rather than on the inside of the biting edges (like they’re supposed to). So, the fix; let the air mostly out, push the rimlock deeper into the tire while simultaneously finagling the lips of the tire around the rimlock. It helps to use lots of lube, and good lighting so maybe you can see in there. Then set the bead again and bounce the tire as he showed in the video, and hopefully that would work for anyone who may have this issue and reads this…at least that’s what solved my issue. Good luck!

Bro, you rock! I watched other videos and tried before dinner. Watched your video and tried another attempt after. Only two spoons. Used a wrench for a bead buddy and it worked a trick! Tire came right off

Just spooned some motoz tractionator enduro I/Ts on my 500 after running mt-21s, d606s, tusk d-sports and tkc80s. Couldn’t believe the difference! I now understand how people do wheelies on dirt in Colorado! Fantastic tire so far!

Excellent, thank you. On my last tire change I forgot to warm the tire up first, bit of a struggle🤣 Question: I am installing a new tusk D sport rear tire, glad you liked it, what was the lowest pressure you were able to use successfully? I am running one rim lock.

The Dunlop, MX 33 and 34 like you said as long as you stay off the cement pavement they’re pretty decent tires in my opinion

You said the key word as far as tire changes go, drop center. If you understand how the drop center works you have a much easier time with tire changes. There's no muscling the tire on, but working with the tire, not against it. Thanks for the video.
@Ivankonermann
@Ivankonermann 8 месяцев назад
Ok…I rewatched this and he’s talking about drop center at 6:30. It seems that the idea behind drop center is getting the bead on the opposite side of the tire you’re working on to drop into the center of the rim where it’s closer to the hub. Please adjust this and help clarify because drop center seems to be a BFD and I want to understand this better. My last tire change was a mofo and I want to avoid that pain in the future. Great video and wonderful tips - thanks!

because it IS easy.......people are working hard, instead of working smart. They are NOT paying attention and taking small bites.....if you stick to the "game plan", dirt tires are extremely easy, period.

I've used 216 Shinko, I've got good life 216 GT, and like the 216 shinko gummy !!!!!!!!!!!!! but haven't tried any of the 216's on slab MotoZ tranctionator's I mix and match them, if up to 50/50 slab/dirt, the H/T wears great for me, I break heavy and wear fronts fast, I've changed at 2kmiles before, but the h/t doesn't hook up like the S/T up front(less miles on slab). I'm usually rocking a S/T front, and an I/T in the rear. For mud, M5b(I don't think DOT) ALWAYS!! In rocks, the ve33s and the Arena Hybrid gummy rock. Baby powder works well, I've also tried rubber grease and HD tubes, works great too. I use bead buddies to help guide the bead to the center too, and use 3 of them for mousse's. I'd bet in 20 years, if your bucket doesn't break, you'll still be using that Murphy's !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Enjoy that Motoz tire!

Love the 606s. Ran em multiple times on my 250L and now on my 300L. However they're hell to try and change. I never considered getting em warm. I had to pay a shop to do it.

Doing them in a shop or at home clean the thing 1st. Helps in so many ways. Do not be a hacker especially when teaching. Never assume the rim strip is ok from the factory. I changed the stupid AT81 front tire and the blue rim spoke strip had never been on top of 12 spokes. So the spokes were rubbing on the tube and dirt was getting in a tad. This was at 7 hours on a new 2022 KTM 300 XC TPI.

The Ibex is a great tire for the gnar(if you are light on the throttle), but it sucks at everything else. I tried one and it was trashed in 10 hours on my KTM 350. I have been running the Motoz I/T and it's been great and wearing well. H/T = hard, I/T = intermediate, S/T = soft. Your S/T is going to wear out fast if you ride pavement or are hard on the throttle.

for fronts, the HT has the most amount of rubber in contact with the ground, lasts a long time, other extreme, the ST has wide spaced knobs, WoW do they DIG!

Many times I seem to get a bulge in the sidewall of a freshly mounted tire right at the valve stem. This makes for a lump as the tire goes around. Does anybody know how to prevent that and once it's there how to get rid of it? It seems to happen often on soft carcass tires such as shinko 241 and others. Thanks

Just mounted the EO7+ on the rear of the KLR. Looks like a tractor tire. Haven’t ridden it yet. We’ll see
@brianbennett6978
@brianbennett6978 2 года назад
When I mount a tire I mount one side and then pop it off the other side so the rim goes down inside the tire. Then I install the tube by bouncing the tire on the ground. It gives me more room to get my big hands inside to start the valve stem and work the tube in. Then just pop both sides back on.

Good.. but.. If you fighting it , you may not necessarily be doing something wrong , some tires are just damm difficult. It can be the construction, the brand, the compound or the particular size so to speak.. Keep on working 💪 👷‍♂️ 👌🏻

@jeremyhallam5392
@jeremyhallam5392 2 года назад
I'm not saying that you're using it wrong, but Murphy's is water soluble. You can use water to thin it down and then apply it to your beads with a brush. It cleans up pretty easily with water too. Plus it cleans your hands really well when you wash it off.

spoon one side of the tire on, put a tiny bit of air in a lubed tube and put it in the tire. put the valve stem in, using nut to hold valve stem. spoon on other side of tire, inflate to desired pressure. tighten rim locks. bam, done!

SUPER EASY STUFF..........The reason people struggle, is because Most People have ego problems and burn themselves out.....it's an Ironic Karma......they are working themselves to Death, instead of Smart, and simply NOT paying attention or feeling what they are doing......period..... If you memorize and run threw the procedure in your head a bunch of times.....get the proper tools, and pay attention, it's Cake.
