nice vid, though the gerudo critique seemed weak to me. I always assumed they just had children with men and then returned to the city, and there is no reason to think they couldn't have longer lifespan too. They might just bed men and then return to have their children, and cast off those who were male in some brutal manner. tri-colored cats are often female, but doesn't mean their offspring are often female btw. otherwise, cool video!
I thought this was confirmed by all the Gerudo women you can find around the world. They often speak of selling gems, but others often speak of finding love. This is kinda confirmed anyways by the Tarry Town quest finale and the Heart Lake quest suggesting that most Gerudo linked quests revolve around love or something like that.

When I saw the part of the Gerudo I thought it was gonna mention about how Link can change into Gerudo clothes right in front of the entrance guards and they'll let him in like they just never saw Link changing clothes ROFL.
I do most sidequests simply cus they're fun! I am always entertained by this game so I do most of em just for the sake of it, not for the reward. Building up your cash is pretty important in this game tho anyway if you want to be able to buy everything, so it's worth doing the side quests for that alone. You are gonna need a LOT of money to buy all of the armor and all of the other essential things you can buy in the game, and you'll have to build that money up slowly over time. Hunting helps immensely, just killing any wild beasties you see & cooking the raw meat 5 pieces at a time is one of the best ways to make money naturally as you play! Once I have a big stockpile of meat I spend some time cooking it up & selling it for HUGE profit! I just do this as I play, if I see a flock of wild birds I throw a bomb at them & kill em, free drumsticks! I just do things like this as I explore. It's another reason I hate using Horses. I'd rather be on foot so I can explore, hunt, open treasure chests, break crates which always have goodies inside, collect wild fruits/veggies, find Korok seeds, fight monsters, etc. You miss ALL of that if you're just zooming on by everything on a Horse!
This game is so overrated and is only as "good" as everyone thinks it is because it stole ideas from other games including Zero Horizon and The Witcher 3.
I'm fairly certain Bolson lowers the price to the house just for you, hangs out in front of your house as if he's waiting for you to make your grand return and gets all blushy whenever you talk to him after you removed all your clothes... it's pretty obvious he's got a crush on Link while also being oblivious he scammed Link by selling him his own house >"You get money or food, almost every reward you get will be gone at some point" So... that's pretty much real life :P But the game has the bonus of not having bills to pay or combating hunger every day. Also it's a post-apocalyptic world, I'd imagine being given food would be a more useful reward for saving someone's life, as I imagine food being somewhat scarce for all the non-adventuring NPCs... So saving a life and being rewarded with food that would extend your life (despite no hunger meter existing), seems fair if you think about it that way. The Gerudo thing was explained as far back as their debut of Ocarina of Time when you talk to a certain Gossip Stone that they venture out to "look for boyfriends", so I imagine many venture out to have a fling with men and then head back home, only to give birth to a girl and perpetuate this cycle. Meanwhile some actually want to settle down with a traditional family as they accept being outcast from their place of birth. So I theorize the majority of Gerudo are fine with their all-women society and enjoy their exotic flings outside of their society while the minority are fine as exiles and presumably enjoy all the new and exciting foreign things in their new life as a wife. The Koroks... Maybe they drank that potion to make them tolerate the heat. You know, that drink you only drank once before you were able to afford the heat-resistant armor. And likely again just for a random Goron sidequest. The dude up in the mountain? Yeah, I've got nothing to justify his life :P
These are all great points, kudos. As far as the Koroks go, they are magic being that changes shape depending on their circumstances. The first Koroks you meet in the series are the kokriri in the Ocarina of Time and they looks like kids, so it would not be out of the realm of possibility to think they can survive in a fiery area.
One thing I find particularly absurd is the Gerudo irrigation system. They have a (probably dirty and disgusting and horribly managed) open channel system that goes over the rooftops, but if you decide to follow the flow of the water to its spring you'll find the water does not come from anywhere. It just magically spawns on the roof of the palace with no hole to come from. Which, you know, might explain why the Gerudo live in the desert yet treat water so carelessly: they have an infinite magic amount of it It's very silly, but I'm surprised that a game so focused on physics doesn't contemplate something as simple as coherent running water.
Lol well I mean ya gotta remember that it's a game at some point but yeah, things like that rarely make sense in a game. It isn't gonna work like a water system in real life, cus it's a video game.
Once i blocked the bridge with metal boxes to see what would happen. Bolson will scale the mountain just to get to your yard. he will trek across that mountain to sit under your tree.
One gripe I got is no post game stories. Building Terry Town and your house should be a POST game side quest. Imagine, you beat Ganon and Zelda needs a place to stay, so you find YOUR house but since it's been abandoned for 100 years, you lost the rights to it, so you spend a long chain quest to buy it back and fix it up and afterwards, you'll find Zelda living in it WITH LINK. OR Zelda doesn't stay a companion the whole time. She goes to the Zora Domain and is working on the Divine Beast there. The endgame cutscene had Zelda mention the Zora Domain. With post game after you've beaten Ganon, building Terry Town is a more fulfilling quest because you took part in rebuilding Hyrule.

Stumbled across this and enjoyed it, lol! Although, with the Koroks, it's heavily implied that they are forest spirits that can't be seen by most people. Link is one of those exceptions. Naturally, spirits won't burn up, no matter what they are made of.
Wow I never noticed some of this stuff. I will however say that even though the reward for some of the side quests are disappointing I think the potential of a really good story apart from the main story is a good incentive to do the side quests. That is just my opinion though. You had some great points in your video.
I freaking LOVE this video series! You really gotta do more of these dumb things vids for other games, or more on Breath of the Wild! Seriously tho, BOTW is THE most deep and detailed game I have ever played in my entire life. The mechanics & physics are so effing polished that ppl are STILL finding things that you can do in the game & it's just crazy!
Speaking of the last one, is it ever even explained why the Male Gorons are allowed into Gerudo Town? Now that I think about it, I don't remember ever seeing a single Female Goron.... The hell?

1: well i think the work people do mention that no one uses the house, so the people from the village were like "this is a waste of space, remove it!" but yes, it is kinda weird, i mean, that pink guy dont realy look like someone that owns buildings, its just a construction person, they dont own the deed for a house, and i dont trust him givin the money to the major of the village 2: i mean, they are special magic beings, so i dont think we sould use logic here, even more so if you think about that a person cant even be next to lava whitout melting away 3: old retired rich person that dont want to life in civilation, and has so much fun makin snowball bowling, he forgets to sleep 4: well i guess so, i mean, hopefully the second game is better in that instead of just a bit of money that you wont be using anyways, for what? sleep wich is free? things you can collect everywhere? for what? 5: thats exactly my thinkin, a race of only female or male just simply cant exist, even more so when they are against the oposide gender even endering there town, thats like not how it sould work, and if they are truly like that, how come you barely even see gerudo in other places? if they are lookin for men, then there not that many around, the gerudo in general even back in ocarina of time was like weird, but there they had no actual town or anything, and back then, i was thinkin that gerudo is more like a bandit gang name whit a rule to only allow female to be part of there bandits, but whit botw, it just like that they doomed them self pretty much, since there reproductive is rather low and so cant possible belive to survive all that much, it is stupid
The koroks on death mountain brings up the argument that there should’ve been unique collectibles for all different areas of the map, but no, 900 koroks
I am still baffled that there is one sidequest where you have to follow a childs love letter to see where it will end up to. The letter ends up to some weird adult guy and you come back to the village both child and adult saying that they would go on dates its really weird if you ask me. WHATS really more weird that these implications are only available in english the rest of the languages even in japanese say that they just became good friends not romance partners.
Lol ya that always creeped me out too. Pretty sure it's a Japanese fetish thing... They are pretty dang weird & perverted over there. Watch some Anime & you'll see what I mean. Always making Anime about creeping on their lil brother or sister or other weird shiz like that. But wow ya I didn't know that about the other languages, that is indeed very odd.
Isn't the kid a Zora? Their lifespans are vastly different from Hylians, so maybe the standards are equally different. I'm not justifying anything, just trying to find an explanation.
I guess for the Koroks there are water in them I guess since they are living things also have you ever tried burning a green leaf they cant burn so I guess that applies to Korok's too
