This is what I LOVE to do when I go grocery shopping. If you're going to take the minute to transfer it all to a freezer safe bag, dump a bottle of something in there! Then you have options. Sometimes I use them as Crock Pot but sometimes I just thaw it out and actually cook it on the stove in a simmer fashion and add some veggies (that way they don't get mushy) ... Like crinkle cut carrots - our favorite - from the 99 cent store! Then just decide... rice, pasta, buns, masked potatoes, or even over a side salad. Thanks for always reminding us of the simpler add-ins. And I highly recommend one of the fruit jelly chicken dishes as tacos with a mild vinegar cole slaw ... SO GOOD! Have an amazing rest of you weekend.
*I love the instant pot so much! I have made quinoa, chicken, chili, asparagus **MyBest.Kitchen** and yogurt in it so far. The only thing that didn't work great was the asparagus. I cooked it for 1 minute and it was still overdone. It is a timesaver and uses much less energy than my gas stove.*
Although I lost 216 lb. doing low carb I like the freezer meals just like they are for a once in a while splurge. Also, couldn't you do it in the Instant Pot doing a Pot in a Pot method? Covering it with the foil would keep it sticky and do it much faster. Would that work?
Would be interesting if you could dump in a slow cooker liner and put that in a freezer bag. Then you thaw enough enough to remove outer bag and put the liner in your slow cooker and GO
Love the recipes but as a diabetic these would kill me lol... Would you consider the possibility of making a video of all your diabetic friendly recipes?
@@teresamorrison7303 if you had read then you would know that g hughes is as good the come along with a few others....but you didn't read so thats on you
Love you guys but It just seems like the recipes are always the same thing with maybe a little twist. I’d love to see some different things and stuff with not so much sugar.
This channel has a lot of recipes. Many of these freezer meals can be cooked in the slow cooker or Instant Pot. We have many more recipes you can refer to and many more coming. We try to have something for everyone. Thanks so much for stopping by and have a terrific week.
@@SixSistersStuff if you could please give the instructions on how to do them in the instant pot I would greatly appreciate that I love Kristen I love all of her recipes and her personality I'm here every week
We have SO many recipes on our site SixSistersStuff.com and on our youtube channel. You can find healthier versions to meet your dietary needs. Just type in what you are looking for in the search bar. Have a terrific week.
You can easily sub any ingredients for sugar free or low sugar. These easy freezer meals can be adapted for meet your tastes and dietary needs. Thanks for stopping by and have a terrific week!!
I wish I would've waited to do my grocery shopping after watching this video lol. The meals this week would've been all set. Oh well guess I know what I need to get for next week's groceries 😋
We have all kinds of recipes that we post each week. This week we had so many requests for some easy freezer meals. You can always sub out ingredients for your taste and dietary needs. Be sure to check out all of our RU-vid videos for SO many recipes.
Yep! I agree. For ,any of their recipes, just cut the sugary or salty ingredients in half or even use a quarter. When they say include a jar of sauce, I just add a half jar. It's plenty.
Hi Teresa. You can easily tweak the recipes by making substitutions with sugar free or low sugar, low sodium ingredients. You can check out recipes on our RU-vid video and all of them are also on SixSistersStuff.com
you really should be teaching people about blanching veggies and such before freezing them.. especially onion, peppers and potatoes and which is the main reason potatoes change as you always mention - but you can stop that by blanching them for about 5 min and then an ice bath... yes, blanching does take a little more time in the prep work - but you do brown burger.. so blanch veggies before adding them to the bags.
I just happened to notice them and was like I need those and so glad they were in the description lol. Bc here it is almost 4am and just ordered a set of 2.
Hi Brianna. You can use your slow cook button on your Instant Pot. We haven't really like using that feature. So we still use our slow cookers. But know that you can sure give it a try.
I have used the slow cooker button on mine twice and didn’t have good results either time. The meat was dry and completely ruined. I use my crockpot for slow cooking.
Yes, you can easily substitute ingredients to your own tastes and dietary needs. These are so easy and tasty and it's so nice to have freezer meals ready to go on a busy day!
Your sticky chicken is almost like my "sweet and sour" chicken that I have been making for years. Substitute the bbq sauce with wishbone Russian dressing (if you can find it) and it is a family favorite.
SJR, yes you can use Catalina dressing instead. For years I have made baked chicken or pork chops using everything the same except substituting Kraft Honey Catalina dressing instead of the barbecue sauce. Both chicken breast or pork chops are equally delicious. I usually place baby carrots and cut up potatoes around the edges of the casserole dish and drizzle a little of the mixture over the edge of the vegetables, then bake in the oven I believe it’s 350 for about an hour but we like our meat well done and the vegetables to get just a tiny bit crisped, so an hour may be too long for you. Delicious! I am thrilled to learn I can use the sauce in the Instant Pot as well but will also try with the barbecue sauce. Thank you Six Sisters. Love all your recipes.
@@carolynemerick4643 Hi Carolyn. Thanks for stopping by. We love hearing about your version of this recipe. Sounds delicious and we'll give it a try too!
I dont eat a lot of meat but i make your recipes with like broccoli, carrots, cauliflower, mixed peppers, pretty much any mix of vegetables or chickpeas, tofu, seitan etc..and serve them over rice or mashed potatoes and it is so good with the sauces you make. You just have to know how to cook vegetables in the slow cooker or IP.
Greetings. Love your videos, but my one request is that when you do multiple dump and go freezer meals, please provide a shopping list in the description. That would make life so much easier and I would be able to make many more of your wonderful recipes. Many thanks. One more thing, do you have a good recipe for tasty corn chowder?
I'm a new Viewer. Can you please tell me the name of the green item? That's holding up the freezer lock bag and where can I get one please? And thank you.
I love freezer meals, particularly slow cooker freezer meals, but I’d love to see some recipes that aren’t absolutely loaded with sugar because my goodness!
@@dlarsen325 what setting do you use. I heard that the low was like warm on the slow Cooker. I can find noone use the slow cooker function on the instant pot.
@@SixSistersStuff Thank you for the reply. I've been debating if an instant pot would be worth it to me since I already have a slow cooker and rice cooker.
Im Brand New to this site! I LOVE IT!! But I started reading the comments below, and it seems to me like 'Someone' in this comment thread is not being very nice to people on here. She should understand that not everyone knows the same thing as others and she should be a little less like a 'know it all' if she wants to help people get the correct answers to the questions they are being asked, just be a little more patient, and a little kinder. Thanks.
So many comments about how there’s too much sugar😂 I never understand people who can’t just adapt these things for themselves. Just add less or add a sugar free substitute instead.
Quick question for anyone who knows the answer. If I cook a roast in the IP and want to add potatoes & carrots the last few minutes, do I need to dry the lid before I seal it again?
I submitted my email address once for your recipes and BOOM you sold my email address to EVERYONE! Uber, Home Depot, seemyrefi, globe life alert, renewal by Andersen.... really??? The list keeps going! I’d rather pay a subscription to get your recipes than to have my email slammed with spam. Love you guys but really disappointed by your marketing techniques and failure to disclose that you would spam my email (daily now for 4 days and counting)
I made Sticky Chicken with Sweet Baby Ray's Sweet and Spicy BBQ this past weekend. It was so delicious. Tasted like General's chicken without the coating. Yum!!
I don't understand why you need to open a can or jar to put it in the freezer, like it doesn't take any time to do that the day of. Does every dinner have to have sugar in it?
These are freezer meal recipes that you can have all prepared in your freezer. We often give them to friends who are sick or maybe just had a baby. You can easily tweak the ingredient to your own tastes or dietary needs. These recipes are very flexible. Just know that for the Instant Pot you need to be sure you have enough liquid. Have a terrific week and thanks for stopping by!
I looked up savory marinades for chicken. Found a Ranch marinade that is awesome. After some research found that you can freeze the chicken after putting the marinade on it. Gives a great flavor to the chicken. Usually cook the chicken in the IP while cooking the brown rice in the microwave (or whatever carb you are having). Do the vegetable while chicken & rice are resting. Did you know it is safe to roast a turkey frozen. Look it up.
Would love to know what brand slow cooker you use. Mine tends to run super hot so 4 hours for chicken on Low is max. Would love to have a brand that allows for the longer cooking time
Thanks so much for stopping by. You can easily tweak these recipe to your own tastes. You can substitute other meat - pork is delicious in some of these recipes. You'll love the ham and pineapple recipe. Have a terrific week.
The Instant Pot has a slow cooker setting. Can you cook it using the slow cooker setting on the instant pot and how do you use the slow cooker setting on the instant pot?
We haven't had the same success with the slow cooker function as we do with an actual slow cooker. We use a separate slow cooker when cooking these freezer meals.
Hi, came to you girls when I bought my instant pot, and it was 'let's research, before I blow us all up' time. Thanks for stilling a lot of concerns, but what I wanted to ask about is how to reduce recipes in both the instant pot and slow cooker. We are myself, my husband, and one kitten (who'd love to try everything, but dietarily, that's not possible), so what are your rules on doing half recipes?
I live in the UK and whilst we cannot get the same brands for many of the recipes you can google to find the closest to them. I have just made 8 freezer meals and cant wait try them and last night we had the ham and pineapple recipe, oh my days it was amazing and will be a firm favourite in our house. Keep those freezer meal ideas coming, with us going back into lockdown the panic buying has started so i need to get those meals in the freezer so i can avoid the shopping chaos! Thank you for easing our lives with your great recipes
Thank you so much for this I still only have a crockpot so this is so helpful While I was watching this video I was actually having the sweet pork meal that you did in one of your previous videos it was yummy 😋 Thank you so much
I love your recipes, but when I have tried making some of your freezer meals after I have frozen them, my instant pot doesn't pressurize. I've wasted so much food. Do you have any tips?
Do you add a cup of water first? I usually pull them out of the freezer the night or the day I am making them..not sure if that makes a difference. The other day i put a semi frozen meal in the IP and it did work but it took forever to pressurize.
@@BiscuitsMom917Yes, I have added the water, I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong. I'll try taking it out the night before. I took then out the day of, and they seemed mostly thawed. Maybe that's the problem. I love all the recipes I make and cook right away. I just wish I could figure out the freezer meals! Thank you!
Hi Janelle. Is the rubber ring in your Instant Pot old? They need replacing every once in a while. We cook these freezer meals in the Instant Pot all the time. Be sure it's on sealing, add a little water. You should be good to go!
