I’ve always admired the beauty of the women who graced this era. Thank you for bringing it back! I love this channel! You’ve inspired me to live like a vintage beauty in a modern world.
Sage, you have such a natural talent/understanding for this. My Mother trained as, what was called back then, a 'beautician' (this included hair) in the 40s, so I grew up being exposed to a fair bit of what you're doing ... and I find it wonderful that a young lady, such as yourself, does such an authentically well done job of it. Did you learn from your Grandmother or elderly relatives at all? Just curious. :-) You've brought back some wonderful memories too ... many thanks.🌷
can I suggest a video on old timey dances? when did dance culture go so wrong?! Remember when couples used to enjoy a dance together?:) beautiful hair styles! Great job!
That would be so awesome! Plus would love to see a nice, twirly dress. People used to be more active, and now we just move our fingers😁 It's gonna be like Wall-E soon...
What a good point when did dance culture become the way it is? I remember when I was 20 saying I would never dance with a guy because that was so gross to dance like that, I wasnt comfortable. I would go out dancing only with my girl friends. I have still never danced with a guy the way people dance now to this day.... I wonder if things changed maybe in the 70s or 80s?
Thank you for the hair styles. Hairstyle number 4 and the variations would be marvellous for a special occasion. The idea of adding a beret is marvellous.
I love all of theses, mostly the braids and scarves ☺️ this is perfect because I used to wear a scarf to cover my hair when I would milk my goats and clean out their barn. I began to really like the idea of wearing a scarf for fashion and not just to keep my hair clean but I wasn’t sure how to do it. These styles are perfect! Yay ☺️💕
Darling! I live miles away from you and I feel like you can read my mind! This is want I needed! Thank u so much, you're amazing, keep going because you are my favorite youtuber xx
Oh my goodness, I just got out of the shower and was deciding how to fix my hair for the day when your video popped up!! Hey Sage. What are the odds of that?? Hmmmmm, not sure what I’ll pick. Thanks for the video my dear. ❤️💜💚
LOL The bloopers get me all the time! 😂😂 Thank you for these looks, Sage! I think they'll come in handy in the summer here since my hair is 33 inches long. 💀😓 I die all the time in summer lol
Aw thanks so much! 💕 I just use a regular shampoo and condition it often with a conditioning deep treatment. I don’t have a specific store where I get my head scarves because I pick most of them up from thrift stores or I make my own! But I believe most modern stores do sell some form of head scarf. Check out target or H&M, I’m sure they will have something available! Xx
I really appreciate these styles. They are more practical for a woman like myself. I am 59 years old and take care of a small homestead. My hubby and I have chickens, a garden and other outside work. Therefore I never have time to set it. These are cute but practical. Thank you.
Thank you Sage for another great video explaining those wonderful Vintage Life Styles of 40s, 50,s & 60,s. I personally enjoy your enthusiasm to seek out precious days of times gone by.💐
Thank you for sharing! I dress vintage but I don't have the time/energy to do overnight wet sets everyday. So these hairstyling tips are very welcome for my pin straight hair. 💖
As a guy I'm endlessly impressed by women who can do things such as in your case bite open bobby pins and blow kiss with hand at the end whilst the lipstick remains perfect. Good job! I can't even put a jumper/sweater on over my shirt without messing up my freshly styled hair but luckily I've got to the stage where that doesn't bother me. Well maybe I'm kidding myself a bit but I prefer the feel of a comfy cosy jumper to being chilly with neat hair! Onto the hairstyles themselves, it's the hair equivalent of the ultimate book of simple easy but very tasty, healthy and hearty recipes. Love all your styles here and great use of the scarves. Wonderful stuff :)
im so happy you uploaded this! i was following along with your get to know me whilst i do a 1950s hairstyle video yesterday and was hoping you'd upload some more tutorials xx
Thank you!!!! I dont totally dress vintage but I really love the vintage hair and makeup look! Thanks to you I've tried pin curling my hair and love it! Its the only way I can get my hair to hold a curl and it feels so special when I get to do it!! Love the easy dos for most of my mommy days!! Can't wait to try these beautiful hairdos!💜 I love look 4 so much!! I have tried this after you did it in one of your get ready with me videos and it is so easy to do yet looks so glamorous. Thanks again!!!
You make this look so easy! I can't often seem to get my hair to look smooth, or my part to be even, or to hide the pins well. I guess practice makes perfect, so I'll use this video as a guide to keep trying. I especially love the updo with the flower combs in it.
FIRST!! I've never been so early! And Sage, you are awesome, I was thinking,"what do I watch?" RU-vid:Sage Lilleyman has posted a new video Thankyou Sage!
@@SageLilleyman You are welcome! I am 13 and doing my own homeschool stuff with my mom, and for gym class I use your 1950s exercises! They are very fun, and I always look forward to you videos! And you look very pretty with a hair turban and no makeup! Just a shout out from me! Haha!
Great tutorial! 👍 that last one I did one day when i was young. My aunts saw and were silent for a moment. I said what. They said you look exactly like Nonna, my paternal grandmother.
Hi Sage! That was lovely! Thank You so much, for all ideas, I have never enough time before work😖...so it will be a huge help...🤩😁 Have a nice day Sweetie!😊
Hello!! I'm Brazilian and I found your channel and I just loved it. Congratulations, your channel is beautiful. I'm sorry if I write something wrong or meaningless, I don't speak English and I use the Google handler. Congratulations!!!!
love your out takes at the end. So.. did many women where their hair long? and how did they style it? Just curious. Mostly see shoulder length hair. Enjoy your videos. Thanks!
This was such a helpful tutorial, thank you! What are the dimensions of your hair scarf in look # 3? My hair is about the same length as yours, and every scarf I've tried has been too small.
love all of these which one is best for early to mid 40s look (am going to a 40's weekender at a local living history museum and want to dress the part (or try to)) and is it better to use a brush or a comb?????
I made it using fake flowers and a hair comb, I just super glued them together! I have actually made a video on how to make your own flower hair combs if you still need some tips xx 💕
Hi! You are very expert to make and sew the things. I ask to you to make a sewing pattern to do a headband to cover the hairs at home, to the beach and the night to sleep. Is it possible? Thanks thanks ❤️❤️
I have the same hair color as you 😊 Is yours natural or dyed? Mine is natural, thanks to grandpa 😁 Loved all the hair styles! I can't wait until my hair grows a bit longer, so I can try them out. Thank you for sharing!
