😂 Ah yes, I’m 7 years old again and laugh too much about knob jokes. The only module on the list I have is the ochd and that’s so good! Perfect module in my book. I definitely need to build a Rings. I mean, do I even make ambient if I don’t have a Rings? 😉
I think at this point, my immaturity is that ingrained that I don’t even realise I’m making them haha. Get yourself a friggin rings! Treat yourself for being an avid watcher of my terrible jokes :) haha.
@@Mavenfiction 😂 You’re a bad influence, you know that? Always encouraging us to get expensive toys! It’s definitely on the list, but I’ve told myself not to build more rack stuff until I finish another album and there are at least 5 other modules where I have the PCBs already. Yes, sometimes I pretend to be a responsible adult too 🤣
@@LillySchwartz haha I try usually to say don’t buy anything. Especially on my day so. But this time you need to buy it! Where can I hear your music please?
@@Mavenfiction It goes to the top of the list then! I've been meaning to build one for ages. Rings & Clouds were the reason why I got into DIYing Eurorack modules in the first place. Already built a Monsoon now and now Rings will be in the next batch of modules I build, for sure! I already use it on VCV, but that's never quite the same without the knob twiddling ( 😜 ) There is some of my music on my channel, if you wanna have a listen! Just uploaded some today by chance.
I'm so glad you mentioned the A-111111-6 because having just started in eurorack it has been an absolute legend. In my ignorance as a newbie I thought I could use my Piston Honda off the bat. But it needs other stuff like a vca and a filter to control it. And the A-111-6 was more than happy to deal with this "limitation" the envelop is fantastic it has a really sharp control. So you can get percussive sounds very easily. And the filter is doing things it shouldn't have to. It has gone above and beyond for me. And it made it's self useful from the beginning in ways that I would not have guessed when I first got my nifftykeyz. So if I sound like a fan boy that's because I definitely am. The A-111-6 is the most surprising module I have got so far. Not that the Piston isn't great. But I paid 500 for it. The A-111-6 was less than 200 and I can't get enough of the filter or the clever envelope. You have great taste in modular Aaron.
Haha thanks Rod. Yeah I agree, it does a magnitude of things very well in a small form factor and for a very reasonable price. I’ll be getting more Doepfer modules for sure!
Agreed. It’s still my preferred use but I’d need a second one now. My live case is pretty much solidified and staying patched for writing and performance.
Morning (for me at least), Sadly not. I don’t have one. I have a couple of poly modules in my case. I’d actually really love one or maybe the new pianophonic to try. Maybe even to replace the chord v2.
@@Mavenfiction Depends on what I’m trying to do, eg. the Coral allows you to assign a different MIDI channel for each sound engine so you could sequence drums, baseline and lead from say a KeyStep Pro. I’ve played with it but I have an Oxi One which has plenty of CV/gate outs and a Westlicht Per|former in my rack too!
Thanks team Knobula! Both for the comment and super thanks, but mainly for making such unique and interesting modules with the musician in mind! I’d love to try some out in a songwriting setting for you, given that I’m the only eurorack pop writer on the planet… probably haha. Cheers again!
See? I TOLD you Rings was properly used as a VCO, not an effect. An excellent selection, not least because I’ve had four of these (and still got three of ‘em). The GC gag went straight over my head however because I have no idea who you were talking about…
Haha you were right all along! I like it as long as I always leave it in one setting. Which was the one you were missing? Which was the one you now don’t have?
@@Mavenfiction I sold the SWN- despite your love of it I found it rather a one-trick pony, and a bugger to sync with Pam’s. Put the money towards a Harmonaig as I recall… on holiday atm so I’ve had no modular fun at all for three days!
