The human body and the world of exercise is a fascinating study. I would bet that most weightlifters and bodybuilders cannot do these exercises with the ease that you do them, if at all. They can handle huge poundages for bench pressing, squats etc. But, bodyweight exercises might be too tough. Yet YOU, who CAN easily do these exercises, do not have big muscles to show for your years of exercising. Strength without muscle size. Fascinating. Personally, I would rather be you and not have to lug around 40 or 50 pounds of useless muscles every day.

Great Video! I like how you demonstrate it in detail. I’ll start implementing these exercises to my routine. Do you recommend incorporating pike push up, frog hops, and straddle bent arm lifts, all three same workout with my handstand balancing training? I train handstand 2-3 times a week. Not sure when to incorporate these exercises and how often to do it. Thanks

I’ve been really struggling with getting knees off elbows in frog. I’m going to try getting head further forwards. I lack strength there. Those push up variations look good! 👍

nobody taught me how to do a push up.. I mean.. well I've been doing stuff for over a year but couldn't push myself further than 90 degrees during push ups.. so yeahhh... Thanks for this video... It's really helpful...I can easily do 50 pushups in one go but not full ones. My final goal is hand stand. And of of course a cart wheel as well. Now I'm gonna work on my arm strength again. Thanks. :) You rock... truly great instructor

@LYF. Thanks. I have to tell you that I am very close to doing both a frog and tuck planche to handstand! I can stick the handstand for maybe 5-10 seconds. Oh yea, I almost forgot, I’m 65 years old! It’s never to late to learn something new. Thanks for all the awesome training exercises.

Yes, incorporate these with your workout sessions. Make sure to have rest days as well. Sometimes I will have a stronger handstand after training really hard and then resting for 1 day (besides stretching).

Hey great video! When you're in the bent arm position loaded up. As you're about to unwind, to the handstand, are you squeezing your glutes, abs, as hard as you can like you mentioned when doing the push ups??? I believe I have the bent arm strength, but as I'm unwinding up, my legs always tend to fall forward as if I'm doing a handstand walk.... Help?

Thanks! I am squeezing everything tight; but the main key to remember is to engage your posterior pelvic tilt as soon as you get to the top of your handstand. Basically squeeze your glutes and tilt your pelvic back (sort of like actively holding a hip thrust). This is what will prevent your lower back from arching and your feet falling forward over your head. At the same time, don't forgot about squeezing your fingers hard to prevent the fall-over.

Mostly shoulder strength; and yes definitely. There are some very skilled heavy-weight calisthenics athletes. It is not entirely pure muscle but also the mind-muscle connection which takes time to adapt to unfamiliar movements.

Maybe 6 months. I was very consistent and it can get frustrating at times, but do not give up. Keep working on handstands too. Practice frogstand to handstand often.

Bent arm press is harder than handstandpushup? I can do frog to habdstabd. Could i achieve this?

I'd say easier than HSPU. Frog to handstand is a form of bent-arm press, so if you can do that then doing other bent-arm presses (straddle,pike, L-sit to HS) will be easier to learn.

Yes they are a great bent-arm strength exercise. If you can do handstand pushups, then you have good push strength.
