There are options to do dental care, vision and other uncovered services in foreign countries where the costs are a fraction of the costs in the USA. Travel Insurance often covers people ANYWHERE in the world except in the USA due to excessive costs in the USA. We were in Mexico and caught something impacting the lungs, so I immediately went to an excellent doctor - total cost was less than $25, but here in the USA for travelers the cost to do the same thing would be in the HUNDREDS. This GREED in our medical system is inhuman and unfair at so many levels.
Some years ago, my mother had a stroke paralyzing her on her left side. She could walk a little bit with her right leg using a walker. She had to wear special shoes, the left one had a brace fitted on it. Her shoes obviously wore out because they were the only shoes she could wear and they were very expensive. When I called Medicare I asked them to approve the shoes. They had the gall to tell me that they could only pay for one shoe! I argued with them for 15 minutes about that and asked them when they buy new shoes do they only buy one. The were relentless. I work in healthcare on the administrative and clinical side and fortunately, one of the administrative managers was a former nurse and she was a fantastic Medicare, State and public health guru. She overheard my conversation with Medicare and came to me to ask what was wrong. I told her and the first thing she said was "Your mother is a diabetic correct"? I said yes. She then said call them back. Since your mom's a diabetic they have to pay for both of her shoes. I called them back and Shazam!!! She was correct. There are many things that Medicare and most healthcare and State agencies will not tell you about what is available to you. Do your homework.Talk to someone in the know. Know your rights. With a little digging you'd be surprised at what U find out..
Medicare needs to cover dental we paid into medicare when we have worked it's bull they don't cover much but they charge an arm and a leg and you still have to get extra medicial coverage
I was on Kaiser advantage but just switched to Humana ( a PPO) can I switch back now and get just medicare with a supplement, as you suggest on your cideos
My hubby bought his 2nd pair of hearing aids at Costco ($2,800 with free follow up) vs. $10k with a private audiologist (she charged for individual appointments) . We both bought Progressive glasses with frames for about $259 each pair. I know still expensive for some people, but the prices for private stores are ridiculous.
@@MedicareonVideo 2 six month cleanings and checkups are about $200-$300. So, that’s approx. 4 to 6 months of premiums, and you are now down to $1300-$1200 leftover to pay for any REAL problems. $1300 to $1200 doesn’t go very far when you start talking about crowns, implants and bridges. Also, most plans have a waiting period, where only checkups are covered. I’ve talked to my dentist office and they don’t recommend dental insurance.....
I'm self insured with dental. I had $5K in work last year after years of just cleanings and the occasional extra work. If you spend less than your SS every month you will have plenty.
@@km-bo3zx I do agree. Comes down to $600 annual premium for $1500 benefit - if you use it. The plan I offer is an indemnity plan. So it pays the customer and can also be used in addition to other dental insurance.
